I adored this love story that spans decades and is full of yearning. The best part? There's no plot machinery to keep the couple apart for 300+ pages, it's just them making mistakes, longing for each other. I wanted to shake them and ask them if they could see how stupid they were being. The progression of their will-they-wont-they relationship felt so natural and had me turning pages well into the night.

WE GO WAY BACK by @niamh_connolly is out in April 2027 via @hodderstoughton , thank you for my early review copy! Pre-order is a must. This will make the list of my favorites this year, no doubt.

I know you're all sick of the comparisons to Gone Girl, but A Good Person by @kirstenlking deserves it like no other because it is so novel, well done and has the most unhinged psychopathic and narcissistic main character who is remarkably self-aware though unreliable, in the most entertaining way.

Check it out, it's not just my book of the month, but will definitely make it to my best of the year list. Check out the January book list in my blog (link in bio).

Thanks @putnambooks for my early copy. Out in March, swipe 👉🏼 to view full synopsis.

The Caretaker by @marcus_kliewer is horror done well. Macy Mullins takes on a very weird job. She's struggling in all areas of life and I suspect readers will find her annoyingly incompetent, but that is the point.
It is a great metaphor for mental health struggles and how downward spirals can be.

I thought this was very clever. After all, what can be more terrifying than your own mind working against you?

Upward Bound is a short book that presents interconnected stories of events at an adult daycare center for people with autism and disabilities. and around it, from different perspectives. Each focuses on a different part of the story and it all comes together is a way that makes you question how you look at some aspects of life, but also reminds you of what you take for granted.

200 pages well spent. Thank you @hogarthbooks for my early review copy. Out at the end of March, get your copies without fail!

Inspired by historical events and figures but not necessarily faithful to some, this book with Anne Boleyn "surviving" her beheading and seeking revenge was such a lovely character portrait of her and her marriage to the king of England.

A spirited heroine backed by good research, a reminder that women who seem "too much" have never been looked upon kindly.

The Beheading Game by @rebeccalehmannauthor is out in March via @crownpublishing and so worth a preorder! For full synopsis swipe 👉🏼

Here's one you can inhale in a few sittings: BEST OFFER WINS by @marisakashino features a restaurant publicist who gets increasingly unhinged in her desperation for her dream home after eleven of her offers have been turned down.

Having been in a terrible market for buyers sometime, I could totally relate to her frustration and it was entertaining to read about the extreme lengths she went to. Really wild.

I can't believe I haven't read @willrdean before. Adrift is a tense claustrophobic read that did not go the places I expected it to, and that someone had me on my toes and worried for the mother and son stuck with an abusive gaslighter. I honestly can't tell how the pages flew by!

Thank you @atriabooks for my early copy. Out in February. Swipe 👉🏼 for full synopsis.

A fresh read in an otherwise largely monotonous genre, How to Get Away with Murder by @rebeccajphilipson is a good one for those who like police procedurals. I may not have fully been onboard with some aspects in the second half but this is an easy one to recommend and I predict it will fly off shelves with ease.

Cleo Dang Would Rather be Dead by Mai Nguyen is not out till April, but that didn't stop me from devouring it in two sittings though my plan was to just sample a few pages for now.

I'm calling it confidently: this is one of my books of the year. It beautifully in a somewhat strange way explores grief and the graph of learning to live with the kind of loss that feels all-consuming. Preorder is a must!

The Rook by Daniel O'Malley was just as hilarious and seemed inventive and fresh even this reread. This is an absolutely underrated gem of a paranormal thriller that has a good twist on identity theft. If you want a book based on a British secret service, look no further!

The only issue was that it cannot decide its genre so it straddles the line between YA and adult, but also, despite good pacing, feels like it could've been at least fifty pages shorter. It was still so, so much fun.

As much as I've been screaming from rooftops about My Roommate is a Vampire and My Vampire Plus-One, I have to admit that three books is too much in this series.

We know that the books are paranormal escapist delights. Not this one. Every page screamed of the flimsy story it is and I am absolutely disappointed. The romance is forced and awkward and the pacing... Overwritten and underedited in a way that makes me shocked I read it cover to cover. That's only because I'm soft on the previous entries.

Thank you @prhinternational for my early review copy. Out via @berkleypub @berkleyromance soon, swipe 👉🏼 for full synopsis.
