2026 New Year resolution: communicate more about books ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽŠ Welcome โค๏ธ I rediscovered my passion for reading in 2022. My genres are mostly romance, fantasy and romantasy๐Ÿฆโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ, but I happily branch out every once in a while. Sadly, I don't have many avid readers (of the same genres) around me, so I was thrilled to discover the bookish community online, mainly on BookTube. However, I'm shy, so I've mostly been watching from the sidelines, eating up the discussions and recommendations. This year I figured I'd try to be a bit more of a participant rather than a spectator. ๐Ÿ™Note: I'm grateful to all the creators around sharing tips, as I'm also completely new to Canva or any other editing tools :) If you've read this far, thank you! โค๏ธ And if you feel like interacting with my post, I'd love to hear what you love most about bookstagram. For me, so far, it's definitely been the recommendations and reviews. ๐Ÿ˜ #bookstagram #newaccount #reader by @readerveronika

Happy October ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ป๐ŸŽƒ Help me pick a spooky read? Autumn and Halloween call for mystery and/or fantasy reads, but there are so many options... These 3 have been on my tbr for a while and are lined up on my e-reader, but I can't decide which one to start with... Got any advice? What is on your October tbr? Are you doing Fantasy? Thrillers? Cozy Mystery? by @readerveronika

Did I mention I loved this mood read? The Amalfi Curse - by Sarah Penner ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿš๐Ÿงœโš“โ›ตโœจ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐ŸŒ…๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ‘™ This book was all vibes for me (although the story was good too, I promise ๐Ÿ˜…). I couldn't stop picturing the Italian coastline, so I had to put it in Canva. #Bookstagram #Reader #Books #RomanceBooks #Italy by @readerveronika

The Amalfi Curse ๐Ÿ“– - by Sarah Penner ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™ This was so much fun! I was hoping for summer vibes and Italy feelings and this story, which is set entirely in Positano (and Naples), delivered ๐ŸคŒ It made me feel like I'd spent some time in Italy, even though I don't get to go there this year... While there is romance, the focus is more on the adventure and mystery elements that gradually unfold. It's the type of story where you already know the general ending, but it's all about how we get there. This was entirely a mood read for me, as it hadn't been on my radar until i saw it at a bookstore, but it's definitely among my favourites for the year now! A beautiful blend of magical realism, historical fiction, mystery and romance. ๐ŸŒŸ Italian setting ๐Ÿฉต Sea witches descended from sirens ๐Ÿ’™ Dual timeline ๐Ÿฉต Shipwrecks, diving and some treasure hunting vibes ๐ŸŒŸ Satisfying ending #Bookstagram #Italy #Reader #Mystery #Romance by @readerveronika

Did I read my tbr? ๐Ÿ“š Spoiler alert: probably not.... ๐Ÿ˜… Back in February, I decided on 26 books I wanted to prioritise this year. However, given how much of a mood reader I am, I never put much pressure on myself for this. July seems like a good time to check how it's going, so here's the result: I've read 37 books in the first half of 2026. And only 10 of them were from the priority tbr - oops ๐Ÿ˜… BUT some of these were the start (or continuation) of a series, so one could argue that actually, 21 of the books I've read are connected to my priority list. Which looks a lot better ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜† Anywho, I've noticed I enjoy the books more (and get through more of them) when I just pick up whatever I'm in the mood for, instead of following a tbr, so that's what i'll continue doing ๐Ÿฉท โ”๐Ÿ’ญ How was your first half of the year? #Bookstagram #Reader #Books #ReadingProgress #Romance by @readerveronika

Current read ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’œ Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter - by Heather Fawcett I needed a palate cleanser after ZA8, and this is exactly the thing. It's cosy, high stakes but feels low stakes, with interesting characters and - most importantly - lots of cats ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿพ Note: I went through a low the last few weeks (which turned into months) but hopefully posting more will help me get out of my reading slump ๐Ÿคž #Bookstagram #CurrentRead #Books #Reader #Fantasy by @readerveronika

April Wrap-up ๐Ÿ“šโœจ - highlights from the past month โค๏ธ Despite life being a bit crappy, this was an okay reading month ๐Ÿค“ I had some highly anticipated reads this month, as well as an unexpected new obsession (the most perfect banter I've read in a long time ๐Ÿ˜˜๐ŸคŒ). I'm also finally making progress in the Zodiac Academy series - hoping to finish the main series in May ๐Ÿคž When it comes to life in general, though, I've had a bit of a set back ๐Ÿ˜ณ I very enthusiastically started running again, but a stupid fall resulted in a scratched up face, a blue knee, destroyed gloves and a hand that hurt so badly, I went to the hospital a few days later. Turned out I had a fracture and now cannot use my right hand for some weeks... ๐Ÿค• I know this isn't the end of the world, and many people have it way worse, but it has really thrown a wrench in my plans and my motivation to do basically anything... ๐Ÿ˜” Anyways, hope y'all had a better month โค๏ธ ๐ŸŽง๐Ÿ“• And Now, Back to You - B.K. Borison ๐Ÿ“• The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy (Dearly Beloathed 1) - Brigitte Knightley ๐Ÿ“• In Her Own League - Liz Tomforde ๐ŸŽง A Call for Kelp (Seaside Cafe Mystery 4) - Bree Baker ๐Ÿ“• Fated Throne (Zodiac Academy 6) - Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti ๐ŸŽง The Baby Dragon Cafe - Aamna Qureshi โ”๐Ÿ’ญ QOTD: have you read Zodiac Academy? Finally back in the Zodiac Academy Universe ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’™ I have read up to book 5 (Cursed Fates) twice already, but struggled to continue after that. Finally, after more than a year, I'm back in Solaria โœจ๐Ÿ“– Pretty sure one thing that made it hard for me to continue was the feeling of utter despair and powerlessness we were left with.. it felt a little too real ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™ˆ Luckily, things are picking up, and I'm already 70% in ๐Ÿค“ Guess not being able to do much aside from reading helps my progress ๐Ÿ˜… the silver lining in having fractured my hand i guess... ๐Ÿค• โ”๐Ÿ’ญ Have you read ZA? Do you recommend reading the other books in this universe as well? #bookstagram #zodiacacademy #books #reader #romantasy by @readerveronika

What I read over Easter ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฃ I had 6 days off work (sorta), and read nowhere near as much as I had hoped ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™ˆ I had to get through some admin tasks related to work which dragged on forever, but luckily managed some reading in between. The first few days were spent with Jackson and Delilah in Baltimore (and in the mountains) and they did not disappoint! They had such a cute and heartfelt story โค๏ธ A beautiful contemporary romance with genuine characters and a wintery setting. ๐Ÿ“š And Now, Back To You - B.K. Borison Once I finished my admin work, I wanted a fun new fantasy world to get lost in, and so I met Osric and Aurienne. These two are hilarious! Given their high opinions of themselves and low opinions of the other, the banter is ON POINT! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Eagerly continuing this story today โค๏ธโœจ A not-too-serious romantasy with exquisite barbs and banter ๐Ÿ“š The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy - Brigitte Knightley ๐Ÿ’ญโ” How was your Easter reading? #reader #books #bookstagram #romance #romantasy by @readerveronika

I needed a new magical world to dive into ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ“š - This was the right choice! Did I plan for this to be my next read? Nope Am I glad I impulsively started it while I was waiting for my tram? You bet! I'm only 10% in, but I already love it! I know it will deal with some heavier topics, but so far I'm giggling and snickering ๐Ÿ˜† the chapter titles alone are ๐Ÿ˜™โค๏ธ Also, I love it when the MC's think the world of themselves and then have to deal with someone who is thoroughly unimpressed ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ“– The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy - Brigitte Knightley Happy Easter! ๐Ÿ’ญโ” What was the last book that made you laugh? #Reader #Bookstagram #Romantasy #BookRecommendation #Spring by @readerveronika
