✨️ Meet the Bookstagrammer: my Boring AF Facts Edition, because none of them are actually fun. ✨️

πŸ“š I have been reading since a very young age - I'm talking early 90s. Going to the library to borrow books was the highlight of my weeks. I grew up with the Famous Five and Secret Seven, went through Sweet Valley, then Mills and Boon, until I discovered Nora Roberts. Then it was a whole other new world.

πŸ“Ί I watch mostly the same TV shows over and over: Friends, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern Family, New Girl are my go-tos. The only movie franchise I've seen is Marvel - but that too I kinda stopped after Avengers: Endgame. I might see one of their movies on and off now, but not that faithfully anymore.

πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ I am a middle child and eldest daughter, infer from that what you will.

πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ I am an introvert and avoid anything that might be anxiety-inducing. Need to call me? Send me a message first and let me know that everything's fine.

πŸ”” I am more listener than talker. I am also a forgetter. Me 🀝 reminders.

πŸŒ€ I am either a procrastinate-for-eons-on-this-task, or a do-this-task-NOW-cannot-do-anything-else person. There is no in-between.

🧳 I would love to travel more, but I hate traveling alone, so I don't.

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’» I work in IT - not the job of my dreams, but one that suits me and has been good to me. I am very grateful for it!

πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ I am an immigrant/expat in Brussels. Moving here was probably one of the best decisions of my life, although it can get very lonely.

🀫 I am an intensely private person (I can see the irony of doing this post), and I will likely never show my face on the internet.

I'd love to know more about your ~boring~ (or what you consider boring but others might not) facts. If you post yours, tag me, I'd love to read!

✨️ Lost and Found ✨️

Lost and Found is one of those books for which I do not have adequate words to express how much I loved it. It truly feels like Tarah gently placed her heart in my hands, and I am nothing but honored to have read this story. LOTS of them feels with this one - yearning, grief, LOVE.
This story of Bea and Silas will take you through a beautiful journey. I've been through my share of grief, and reading about Bea's had me on the verge of tears, memories of the people I've lost over the years clinging to my consciousness.
I know for a fact that many readers love Tarah's work, making them feel connected and seen in ways no other stories can. Tarah's writing has a direct line to my soul, and I can never recommend her books enough!
Also, this book might have my favorite bonus epilogue written ever?? Like, just when I thought I had my feels all done in with the story itself, Tarah says, I'm not finished here's some more!!!
(Grief is an important part of this story so if you have ever lost someone close to you, Bea's grief will make you feel seen, but will also dredge up memories so make sure to take care of yourself).

(Thank you to Tarah DeWitt for the ARC. All opinions are my own).

Swipe for blurb and a few quotes.
Release date: August 4th.

πŸ’ Long weekend loading . . . πŸ’

My four-day weekend is starting tomorrow, which is just what the doctor ordered (literally told me to go on vacation, but that'll have to wait for now). I plan to do a lot of reading, and a lot of nothing (the voice inside my head is reminding me that I'll have to do groceries and clean the apartment and cook and I'll just ignore it).
Full disclosure, I am already halfway through Run Posy Run, Cate C Wells doing the most to get me through this slump, and hopefully enough to get me started on these books I've been wanting to read for a long time:
- The Paris Match - Kate Clayborn
- Tropesick (ARC) - Lauren Okie
- The Antiquarian's Object of Desire - India Holton

Here's to breaking this slump and getting back on track!
Have you read any of these books? Which one should I start off with?

πŸ’ Leave and Come Back πŸ’

Leave and Come Back is the book you want to read for a wonderful 90s Bollywood movies nostalgia moment. It gives fantastic rom-com-fam-dram, encompassing important topics like the immigrant experience, and family approval (a crucial step in a relationship in the desi culture).
I loved both Simran and Leo. Their fake-not-dating brought a different kind of tension, with stolen moments and sizzling chemistry. The wedding shenanigans were fun, and the family moments were certainly emotional.
I also had the most fun coming across DDLJ easter eggs, I have highlighted quite a few! Having grown up in a multi-cultural environment with a heavy Asian influence, AND being an immigrant myself, this story was pretty nostalgic and representative for me. I loved everything about it!
Lavanya Lakshmi's writing brings all the characters to life and her storytelling makes reading this story feel like watching a movie. A 2026 favorite!

(Thank you to @vikingbooks for the ARC. All opinions are my own)

Release date: June 16th.

πŸ’ One for the Road πŸ’

One for the Road was one of my most anticipated reads for this year. I absolutely loved the first two books in the series, and had been waiting for Alistair's story.
This book has, what I am realising, one of my favorite tropes combination: single mom Γ— grumpy MMC. Nothing like seeing a grumpy, reserved MMC falling head over heels for a fierce mom AND her child, and seeing such a woman learning who she is and what she wants, on her terms.
And also! Alistair and Isla are not magically perfect, although they do make perfect sense together. They make mistakes, but learn from their mistakes and do better to be there for each other - seeing people grow because/in spite of their circumstances is one of my favorite things to read about.
One for the Road is a marvelous getaway to Scottish lands, and the Macabe Brothers series is on my re-reads list, a series I will be visiting again and again.

Release date: June 4th (UK) β€’ July 28th (US)

πŸ“– Recent reads and immediate TBR πŸ“–

Featuring some of my recent (re-)reads from my physical books, and some books that I recently bought that I plan to read in the near future.
I finished my re-read of Whisky Business (loved!) and Scotch on the Rocks this morning (perfect angst!), and I'll be starting an advanced copy of One for the Road (book 3 in the series - out in June) next.
I have heard only great things about No Matter What, so I am waiting for the right time to read it. Haven't heard much about The Night We Met, we'll see how that one goes.
What have you read and loved lately that I need to add to my TBR? Let me know!

🐾 How Not to Fall in Love 🐾

How Not to Fall in Love is slow-burn perfection, with angsty moments the way I like them, and characters you feel invested in.
Both Archer and Remi are layered characters with their own demons. Archer especially at first is such a jerk that I did not like him - but fear not, Sorensen writes him in such a way that you'll end up loving him. Remi is wary at first with good reason, but when forced to spend time together, both Remi and Archer start to heal and grow, and you'll definitely root for them.
The emotional stakes are high in this one - dare I say that this is Karla Sorensen's angstiest yet? And the burn was slow and absolutely paid off.
How Not to Fall in Love was wholesome and bingeable, with great secondary characters and a well-written setting. I loved everything about it, and it's one that I will definitely re-read.

Swipe for blurb and a few quotes.
Release date: April 14th.

πŸ“š How to Write a Love Story πŸ–Š

How to Write a Love Story is signature Walsh: relatable characters, excellent banter laced with humor aΜ€ la Catherine Walsh, and a story that will grab your attention and play like a movie in your mind.
I loved both Ciara and Sam. Ciara's mind is a marvel - her tendency towards darker thoughts with a humorous undertone never failed to delight me. I could picture Sam just looking at her, going "hmm you're kind of scary, I dig it". Sam is such a loveable character too - a good guy, the kind that you want by your side. Both Ciara and Sam stay true to themselves, and while their partnership at first is not easy - this kind of relationship demands trust and some level of ease and comfort - seeing Ciara and Sam work towards their happiness was such a treat.
The Ireland setting is always a pleasure too.
The dual pov is fantastic - making you know the characters more intimately.
Everything feels very well balanced in this story. Walsh knows how to write well-rounded and layered characters - who are more than just two people being in love.
Catherine Walsh is one of my favorite authors, and I absolutely trust her to deliver stories that I know I will love. And if like me you are a Walsh fan, you will definitely love Sam and Ciara!

Swipe for blurb and a few quotes.
Release date: March 10th.

Thank you @duttonbooks for the ARC.
