✨The future is soup✨

I did a buddy read with Regan and it was so much fun! Sadly the book was not our thing 😔 and we will be doing a redo with a different book🙂‍↕️

Also, if you listen to the name Jordan and this is one of your favorite books, maybe just don’t look at out reviews👀🫣

Synopsis:
There have always been monsters all around us... Since the hurricane, the town of Mercy, Louisiana has been overtaken by a strange red algae bloom. Noon and her mother have carved out a life in the wreckage, trawling for the mutated wildlife that lurks in the water and trading it to the corrupt harbormaster. When she’s focused on survival, Noon doesn’t have to cope with what happened to her at the Cove or the monster itching at her skin. Mercy has never been a safe place, but it’s getting worse. People are disappearing, and the only clues as to why are whispers of underwater shadows and warnings to never answer the knocks at night. When the harbormaster demands she capture the creature that’s been drowning residents, Noon finds a reluctant ally in his daughter Covey.
And as the next storm approaches, the two set off to find what’s haunting Mercy. After all, Noon is no stranger to monsters...

Late to this trend, but I've really wanted to do it every since I saw it going around! The food pictures from this post are ones I ate during my city trip to KL (they were deliciousss)

If you've read these books, please tell me if it's good/I should lower my expectations 😆 without spoiling me tho. I still haven't picked legendborn series up yett, they're staring at me from my bookshelf. 🙂‍↔️

Olivia rodrigo's new album is so mesmerising 🥹 It's been sometime since I listened to any of her albums- her latest ones connect to me. I rarely cry while reading books, in movies as well. I do cry for cdramas and films like (wicked, I'm sure there's more but I can't think of any for now) 😂. The only time I sob while reading is when the book is THAT emotional. ✨

I hope this doesn’t find you | I hope this finds you 🌸

This is a reread guys 😍 and I just realised how much I missed my babies, Sadie and Julius. The edits I made are specially to hold my favourite memories of them🔒
🦢 Thoughts:
Sadie Wen, the perfect student and captain of her school, secretly writes brutally honest email drafts about everyone she hates. But when they accidentally get sent out, her entire life starts falling apart — especially after Julius Gong (her academic rival) reads the ones about him. 📩
Sadie’s sarcasm and chaotic thoughts mixed so well with Julius being all cold/calm, teasing, and secretly soft for her 🤭. Both of them are really smart, independent and competitive- they match each other so well. Their chemistry felt natural to me, especially the way they fought, misunderstood each other. Yet still somehow finding their way back. Highschool romance are always cute and nostalgic to me 😖💌
The book wasn't centered on romance only. It also revolves about expectations, identity, and learning to let people see the real version of you. Sadie was honestly so relatable at times, especially with how much she overthinks everything and tries to hold herself together. She's such a role model, love her! 🥹✨

Okay, honestly, at this point my procrastination habit deserves its own TED Talk. Like, who the hell takes this long to make edits? Me. Obviously. I am the problem, it’s me. But oh my god I am SO HAPPY I finally finished editing all my friends. And I think they actually turned out good?? I really hope they like them because these people are my absolute favorites on this planet.

These edits? My babies. My soul. My emotional support creations. If you ask me which edit is my favorite yeah, this one. This whole series, actually. Editing my friends? Peak life experience. I love these people. I love talking to them. I love breathing the same air as them. I’m genuinely grateful to exist in the same timeline as them. They have my heart, my soul MY EVERYTHING<3333333

The Floating World by Axie Oh🪽| book rant 🥰

This book is officially one of my favourite comfort reads!😩 The Studio Ghibli vibes, the setting, the atmosphere, the CHARACTERS-everything soothed my heart. There’s just something so gentle and magical about the world she writes. I can imagine myself there in the world physically. ✨️🫂

We follow Ren, who’s trying to find a cure for her little uncle, and Sunho, who’s hunting down a girl in hopes of saving his brother. Soon, their paths crossed as fate intwertine them together. Their pasts are both a little sad, but they grew up into such strong individuals. I really adore their dynamic-every interactions felt natural and adorable. SUNHO though. He’s so protective of Ren, but in a freedom-giving way. They support each other, fight for each other. I love them sm!!!💘⚔️

The characters they meet along the way were really nice too. Halfway at the book, the adventure and dangers start levelling up, I enjoy the flow of writing and fast paced story. As for Jaeil… I still can’t fully read his intentions. Does he genuinely want to save Ren? Does he like her romantically or in a childhood-friend way? No idea honestly, but I’m shipping him with someone for now hehe.🤭 by @readingmindful
