I would say “hot take” or “unpopular opinion” but I feel like my takes aren’t that unpopular (except for the second one maybe 😂) by @readingwithlysee

Life has been completely overwhelming lately, so I haven’t been on here as much as I’d like! But the good news: the reading slump hasn’t won. I’ve read some incredible books this month, and I’m currently halfway through The Haunting of Hill House. It is slowly becoming an absolute favorite. I loved the show, and even though the storylines are different, spotting all the neat references to the book has added such a fun element to reading it.🤎🖤 by @readingwithlysee

A little Monday library haul!
Sunrise: an interesting multiple timeline novel about a ghost town called Sunset. I’m halfway through and have no idea what the plot is so there’s that😂 but we shall continue because I have a feeling it’s all going to come together!

The Haunting of Hill House: this has been on my TBR for FOREVER. I absolutely love the show and I know they aren’t the same story, but I’m really excited to read this in October!

Immortality: I judged a book by its cover and grabbed this one and got the one before it on my Kobo. Has anyone read it?! by @readingwithlysee

Happy first day of fall!! I’m starting off the season with a cozy mystery: In the Company of Witches by Auralee Wallace.

The story follows Brynn Warren, a witch who runs a family owned bed and breakfast in the small town of Evenfall. When a guest turns up dead, she has to use her unique gifts and work alongside her quirky family to figure out what happened before the wrong person takes the blame.

I just finished Emma M Lion Vol. 3 so I’m really excited to dive into another cozy book! Everything I was seeing on this compared it to a combo of Practical Magic and Gilmore Girls and I think that’s the perfect start to the season!🐈‍⬛ 📜 ☕ 🌙

Grady Hendrix really knows how to write a thick book that never feels like it’s full of fluff! This is my second book by him, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires delivers the ultimate 1990s Southern Gothic horror with a sprinkle of dark comedy.

It follows Patricia, a former nurse turned stay at home mom who feels like she’s drowning in everyday domestic life. Her main escape is her true crime book club. But when a strange new neighbor moves in and local kids start disappearing, the book club ends up being the only ones paying attention 👀 by @readingwithlysee
