POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Happy pub day to one of my favorite reads of this year!! A queer, cyberpunk reimagining of Fitzgerald's classic, with messy BIPOC leads, a critique on the American Nightmare, and a surprising amount of tenderness.

@krismfajardo, of all the Gatsby retellings I've read, yours is my favorite, old sport. 🥂

🔥 HAPPY PUB DAY @_BIGBADBOOKS_ 🔥

Celebrate Latine Heritage Month with this timely, ferocious debut from Inez Ray!

Buzzard is a near-future dystopian that explores our country's current war on reproductive rights through the story of Mae, the last midwife in the United States performing abortions after reproductive rights are dismantled across the entire country. When she is eventually caught and convicted, she is forced to serve as a nurse for an experimental prison for young drone pilots and discovers horrific human rights violations happening, which leaves her with the difficult choice of either keeping her head down and possibly one day being able to get out and reunite with her sons, or do what she has always done, and prioritize the needs of the marginalized people in front of her.

This is the kind of story we ALWAYS need, but now more than ever, with women's rights and bodily autonomy under attack in this current political climate. Let's get this book into as many readers' hands as possible!

Swipe to the last side to see some indie bookstores that have partnered with @bindery_books and @leftunreadbooks to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales of Buzzard to local community reproductive rights groups. The ebook also available for $3.99 and you can use the code BUZZARD15 for 15% off at @bookshop_org.

San Diego had just a little tease of fall before the humidity came back, but it was enough for me to be excited about autumn! Enough of the heat–give me my cozy sweaters and boots. Alas, that’s probably not happening any time soon, but a girl can hope, right?

1️⃣ week.

2️⃣ incredible book events.

3️⃣ separate visits (with different book purchases each time).

There's a reason why @mystgalaxybooks is my favorite local indie bookstore! ❤️❤️❤️

@kaylsmoon and @mk_lobb were definitely worth waking up from a deep nap to go see on a Saturday afternoon.

Pretty sure this was after I was told I was holding the book upside down/backwards in the photo. In my defense, it was hot and I'd already forgotten my name once. 🙃

Brain was not forming sentences well, I'm so sorry for how awkward I was.

Book haul number one.

Book haul number two, when all I was doing was picking up my pre-order.

@penchant4words and @autumn__krause!!!
