Meet the Bookstagrammer ✨

Hi! I'm Haley Raine, a 25-year-old book lover born and raised in Vernonia, Oregon.

I currently live in Portland, OR with my boyfriend and two cats, Jinx and Izzy.

My mom instilled in me a lifelong passion for reading that has only continued to grow.

As a kid, I loved everything from The Series of Unfortunate Events to Harry Potter. When I hit my teen years, I was mostly reading One Direction fanfics on Wattpad.

Now, fantasy and historical fiction are my go-to genres, though I do enjoy a smutty romance as well.

While my main hobby is reading, I also enjoy painting, gaming, and modeling.

By day, I'm a marketer for an energy-efficiency company; by night, I'm an aspiring author working toward publishing my fantasy novel in 2027.

I'm looking forward to connecting with fellow readers and sharing my bookish adventures. 📖

Portland Beyond Powell’s, part 3: @motherfoucaultsbooks

So many people recommended Mother Foucault’s, and for good reason! I could spend literal hours in there just reading and existing. It’s such a magical place and I will be recommending it to every book lover I know. ✨

Disclaimer: they don’t allow the use of mobile phones in the store (which I love) but for the purpose of this video they gave me permission.

September was filled with spending time with my favorite people, celebrating the start of fall, and reading some great books ✨📚

What was your favorite part of September?

@authorljandrews The Stolen Crown was so much more incredible than I thought it would be, and it was an honor to be chosen as an ARC reader. Tait and Mira are now my favorite Ever Seas couple.

I also really enjoyed Taken by the Tide by @inviwright 🌊
She never disappoints me with her books, and this one was super unique and a perfect easy fantasy read.

@tessahalewrites had another steamy romantasy release and I am very excited to see what happens in the next book.

The Poisioner series by @ophallic concluded with The Cannibal. This was a great series with a badass FMC.

On a whim I read @navessa.allen The Lunatics. Listen, I’ll never get tired of werewolf/vampire fantasies and this one was so good.

I also started @brynne_weaver The Shadow Realm trilogy. I absolutely love when an author combines comedy and fantasy. It makes for such a fun read and the FMC in this truly is hilarious. taken in Portland, Oregon by @readingwithraine

Welcome to the Portland Beyond Powell’s series! I’m so excited to start sharing some amazing bookstores in Portland with you all.

Bookstore #1 of this series is @kidhermesthetrickster 📚I went there for the first time last month and immediately loved it. It was such a welcoming and inviting little store with an amazing selection of books. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.

The leaves are changing, fall flavors are back at Trader Joe’s, and I’ve been wearing a sweater the past week. So it’s official, fall is here! 🍁🍂

Here is just the start of the book recommendations I’ll have for you all this fall, including a couple cozy mysteries for my mystery-loving bestie @kawaialalee 🕵️‍♀️

Q: What book would you recommend I add to this? 👀

Even though I was super busy, I still managed to read eight books this month! I binged a lot of @authorkatestewart books. She’s my #1 romance author and never fails to impress me.
ARC review of @kfbreene Magical Midlife Conclave coming soon (spoiler, it was amazing).
@sophiastgermain_author new book, Who Hears the Waters’ Call, was also incredible. Definitely a must for romantasy readers. taken in Portland, Oregon by @readingwithraine

July recap ☀️

July is typically a hard month for me. July of 2021 I was really sick and almost died, so the month usually brings a lot of anxiety and PTSD. But this year the month was filled with so much joy, laughter, and gratitude. So much so that I only got around to reading six books. My favorite of the month was Stolen by Shadows by @author.elizabeth.helen 🖤 if you haven’t dived into the Beasts of the Briar series yet, I highly recommend it (especially for my spicy fantasy girlies) ✨
