26 books for 2026—carefully hand-picked and pondered over 📖✨️💌📚

Here are the 26 books I have committed to reading this year! ☕️

It is a very diverse selection—new releases, old titles, preloved/second-hand, proof copies, recently acquired and some stewed in my bookshelves for more than a year.

Are any of these on your 26 for 2026? 💗

2025 was a good year ✨️💌

I have learnt so much about myself. This year has been about family and the beauty in the ordinary. I turned 29, travelled to Sevilla for the first time, tried my hand at plant propogation, became an auntie, came home to see family, and also watched my partner reconnect with my family and meet other loved ones.

My bookstagrammer life saw new friendships, many invites to book events, so much bookmail and a plethora of stories where I lost myself in.

But, I have also celebrated so many achievements.🍾

I started new job, raised over £335,000 for some community organisations, got paid for the first time as a bookish content creator and started freelancing part-time.

Thank you for all the love on here and may 2026 bring you peace, pure joy, health and prosperity ✨️ 💖

#whatthisweek 36/52 📦😴

✨️ what I've been up to: cleaning, packing and moving, workx100, gym and just so much life admin. The new place fell through after all that packing and moving, just for it to be a complete disaster (more story time on that later after all the boring legal stuff has been done) AFTER we have left the old place sooo, it has just been a rollercoaster of emotions.

But we have a temporary abode and most importantly, each other and I'm sure the universe has a better home in store for us. I've been spending a lot of time with my niece which has been a healing experience and a reminder of what we have 💌

For now, the books are in boxes until we find out dream home 🥺

p.s. if you are or know of a solicitor experienced/specialised in rental property disputes pls dm me!! ⚖️

A busy busy week but managed to squeeze in some reading. 📖✨️💕

The Quiet Week in my 9-5 really helped with my overall wellbeing since being in a client facing role means I'm always drowning in meetings. I was able to just focus on deep work which was helpful especially with all the packing and reorganising ahead of the big moving.

It took me a LONG time to finish Butter but I really enjoyed it. (Full review coming soon!!) 🧈

I'm now reading Hotter In The Hamptons ☀️🍒

P.S look at what @artbyemmaaspris did for me during Siren Fest 2026 🧜‍♀️

✨️ what I've been up to: a lot of packing because I'm moving so it's been a lot of packing and organising! Overwhelming but so excited for another new chapter. Went looking at furniture which is super exciting, moved my body, made delicious food, did a lot of work during our annual team quiet week, and the week's highlight was attending the Kissed by Christmas Advent Calendar event at the @panmacmillan office thanks to the team at @bookbreakuk . Painting baubles with @bablelondon was so much fun and therapeutic too. The bookmail was a cherry on the cake as Careless People by @sarahwynnwilliams which I am really looking forward to reading.

📖 what I've been reading: l finished Butter by @yuzukiasako and ready to read Hotter In The Hamptons by @tinx

📺 what I've been watching: The Crown rewatch, Ted Lasso, Lets Marry Harry (2/10), Love Is Blind UK (6/10) the office re-runs

🎧 what I've been listening to: Call Her Daddy, Butter Audiobook

One of my favourite things to do when I'm in another city is to visit their bookshops.

As always, it's important they are either
✅️ independent shops
✅️ selling second hand books

Save for your next trip 💌

1. The English Bookshop: located in Centrum, this independent bookshop is very pretty and has a range of fiction and non-fiction English language books. It also has walls of blind dates with books, perfect for gifting!

2. The Book Exchange: established in 1978, this is the biggest second-hand bookshop in Amsterdam and has three floors of pure magic! Located along the Kloveniersburgwal canal, this shop has a mix of older publications and latest bestsellers.

3. Antiquariaat Brinkman: opened in 1954, this is a distinguished antiquarian located in the heart of Amsterdam. It specializes in rare and valuable books, manuscripts, and prints. It is located along the Singel canal.

4. Perdu Bookstore: this poetry bookshop was established in 1984 and is also located along the Kloveniersburgwal canal and hosts writing workshops and poetry sessions. It has a carefully curated selection of Dutch, English, and international poetry collections, first editions, bibliophile editions, second-hand books, and a substantial collection of poetic essays.

5. Athenaeum Boekhandel: one of the largest independent bookstores in Holland, founded in 1966. It is located on the Spui square and has so many literary and academic books.

Some would argue that it's too early to celebrate Christmas but in the book community, we already know what we're reading over the festive season!

@bookbreakuk @panmacmillan are already on top of it and have got you sorted! 🎄🍒✨️

I am so grateful to have been invited to the Kissed by Christmas Advent Calendar launch last evening. It was such a fun one — I met the wonderful @helengaskell.writer and @gemmamorr , whose books are in the Calendar, we painted baubles with @bablelondon and talked about Christmas novella and romance tropes!

Thank you Pan Mac team!!
