When Sawyer shows up, I appreciated that heā€™s not some over-the-top hero. Heā€™s guarded, rough around the edges, and clearly shaped by what the world has become. Their dynamic felt earned. The slow build of trust between them ā€” especially as they travel through the ravaged Midwest and realize that other survivors can be just as dangerous as the infected ā€” was one of my favorite parts. The idea that by killing the last Alpha and not taking the role himself, he accidentally plunged the werewolf world into chaos? Thatā€™s such a great moral dilemma. What I liked most was Calebā€™s reluctance. He doesnā€™t want power, which makes him more compelling when heā€™s forced to step up. The fractured packs and political infighting gave the story more depth than just claws-and-fangs action. And Logan Olivier is a solid antagonist ā€” his push for a full-on Werewolf Apocalypse and Human Holocaust makes the ideological divide feel real, not cartoonish. The final buildup to that cataclysmic, blood-soaked showdown absolutely delivers. Itā€™s intense without feeling messy, and the emotional weight behind it works because we understand whatā€™s at stake for both humans and werewolves. If Iā€™m nitpicking, a few exposition-heavy scenes slowed the pacing slightly, especially when explaining pack politics. But honestly, it adds to the world-building.
