What I realistically read in a week working full time as a teacher…✨

Reading really takes a back seat during the week for me, I’m finding that I’m just too tired to concentrate on reading🙈 next weeks reading will be much the same or even less due to parents evening🙃

Long time no grid post✨

I thought after a few months of no grid posts it was about time to upload something👀 it’s currently the last day of the summer holidays and it may be an unpopular opinion but I am ready to get back to school, as much as the summer was well and truly needed, I thrive off of routines so really can’t wait to get back into a good routine😅

Currently reading : Fall to pieces, the second book in the broken series by Chloe Walsh! I really enjoyed the first one, not sure on my feelings on this one, the main characters are insufferable in this🫢 and you can tell by the writing this is Chloe’s more earlier work, as opposed to BOT!
I will still finish the series and am looking forward to getting round to the Carter Kids series, as this one is all about the carter kids’ parents apparently😌

What I read in a week.. Easter holiday edition✨

I haven’t done one of these before so I really wanted to🤭

This was the second week of the Easter holidays, so I managed to read a lot more than what I would if I was at work😅 we also had two days of glorious sunshine where I just sat in the garden and read and it was lovely😍

2 books finished and 1 started! 517 pages in total, I’m happy with that😊

✨ Have you read any of these?

Book review✨

Now we all know I’m a Freida girlie through and through… however this was not a fave of mine at all.

I liked the idea that you choose the ending. You have options at the end of each chapter, depending on what you would do in that situation, which leads you to a different part of the story. Once that option ends it takes you back to the start and you can choose the other option and see where that takes you. I loved this idea but the story line was just not intriguing me and each story line finished really quickly and felt quite unbelievable (which I know most of her books are very unbelievable 🤣)

I’m sad I didn’t enjoy this one! She does have 2 more coming out this year so I’m hoping they live up to my expectations🫢

Kindle coloursoft…✨

So as some of you may know i orderdd myself a coloursoft last year but ended up sending it back as it was so grainy to me. Fast forward to now and really really wanting it again😂🫣 I made a bit of money on Vinted recently, so decided to re-purchase it. I bought it second hand on Vinted (to make myself feel better about buying it again lol, girl maths) it’s in perfect condition and the seller sent it with the box and everything inside which I was so happy about. I only got it yesterday so I need more time to tell, but so far I’m absolutely loving it so much, and it’s not anywhere near as grainy as the last time?🤩 (This one is the newer one they brought out instead of the signature one) anyway, this post is just to say I’m loving the coloursoft, for anyone that cares🤣 also loving these lock screens too😍

Also loving my time in Windy City again, I’m going to be so sad when I’m finished🥲🥺

The midnight library book review…✨

I absolutely loved this book so much. The quotes were so good and I feel will stick with me for a long time. The idea that where you are now is exactly where you are meant to be, even if right now it doesn’t feel like it, was just portrayed so well in this book. I loved seeing what Nora’s life would be like if she made different decisions or followed different paths and love the idea that there’s an infinite numbers of different lives we have all lived! 5⭐️ for me🥳

Some of the quotes that stuck out to me in this book;

“Maybe life was automatically better when the sun shine so confidently in April” 🌞

“Never underestimate the big importance of small things”💫

“If you aim to be something you are not, you will always fail. Aim to be you. Aim to look and act and think like you”✨

Boys of Tommen…✨

With today’s news of BOT coming out as a tv series I thought it was only right to post this picture☘️(as I’m typing this I’m annoyed I didn’t include my shamrock jelly cat in the photo🫣☘️)

Boys of Tommen is my all time favourite series ever, with my favourites being the 6s🥺 I cannot waiiiit to watch this and I am really really hoping it does the books justice and doesn’t ruin/miss out any of the important big bits🤞🏻🥹

Book review✨

I haven’t done a book review in the longest time so I thought it was about time I did one😂

As I’m sure most of you know by now I absolutely love Freida McFadden’s books, they’re usually fast paced & gripping, with short chapters which are my favourite! My all time favourite Freida book is the inmate, the twists and turns were sooo good🫢

Now onto her latest release…. I have to say I think this is my least favourite of hers so far🥴 the chapters were short and quick, but it took until about 80% through for any big twists to happen or for anything to even remotely surprise me. If this were any other author I probably would’ve dnf’ed before 80%, as it was unfortunately a bit boring🫣 luckily the last 20% redeemed itself and I ended up rating it 3 stars, but I was also debating between 2 stars😶

Current read…✨

Thought it was about time I uploaded a pic on my grid🫢 My current read is thirteen by Steve Cavanagh, I’m currently 45% through and really enjoying! I always say I’d loveee to do jury duty so this kind of read is right up my street👀 I have a few ideas on what’s going to happen, but hoping to be surprised😶

That’s a wrap on 2025✨💫

Looking forward to reading loads of great books again in 2026, I’ve set a goal of 50 books as I don’t want to put any pressure on myself to read for the sake of meeting a goal! Not making any other ‘rules’ or ‘goals’ just happy to go with the flow✨

Happy new year everyone🎉 and happy reading📖
