I ran.. I did not walk to Deep 2. @author_natavia_ You got me hooked girl. I’m ready for Deep 3 or Bai and Reef’s spin off. lol you choose, but I need one or the other. Just playing… but if it was on your mind … I’ll read it! I really enjoyed Deep One and reading Deep Two made me appreciate it more. My love of Shore, Zambezi, Bai, Reef, etc came from the fantastic character building that was done in Deep One. The way I was invested in my babies Shore, Zambezi and Oceana was unreal. As you see I’m ready for a part three that hasn’t been created or thought about. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Zambezi!!!! Mhhhm. 🤤😬😝Zambezi in this book.. was better than him in the first book. He grew up and his maturity, vulnerability and man for the house energy was unmatched. Overall, loved series so much. Would recommend to anyone who wants to transition from urban fiction to fantasy… great mix of both in the story to me. This book gave more action, more to hate about characters,(Caspian), love about characters, (Reef and Bai) and feel indifferent about characters (Geesha and Reign) Regardless of your feelings towards the characters you will want to finish the book. And.. if your greedy like me want a spin off or Deep 3. I cannot wait to jump more into her catalog! by @readthatchaptergirl

DALVIN AND TAHLI ARE LITERALLY DRIVING ME CRAZY! I cried real ass tears at the end of this book. Like real tears 😭 I was real life conflicted on how to feel at the end of this book. I REALLY want Tahli to forgive Dalvin because their love is just magnetic and radiant! But I do ABSOLUTELY understand why she is standing her ground. Dalvin though will BREAK A MOTHERF***** DOWN! That last chapter was just too much. I felt Dalvin’s love for her TOO much!
It was three days and I could not move on to another series. I thought a break was needed after this book, but lord and behold … here I am day four and already a couple chapters in The Impact Book Three. Already emotional already trying not to cry. It’s just soo much raw emotion for fictional characters! It’s a lot. I think this book is slowly creeping into the top series I have read! This part of the book goes back in forth from present to past again. Mostly stays in the past and I guess … explains how we got here … here meaning present. But that’s the thing… now I have all this past knowledge I know the love they have built, created, argued for, make love though, and created a family around. It’s just so sad it ended how it did in two! Tahli HAS to be okay! It’s … toxically passionately amazing and I canNOT wait to see how their relationship turns out. @bytakerraallen by @readthatchaptergirl

Omg!!! This book was OUTRAGEOUS! lol. I did not at all expect all that happened when I read this book. I took trips down memory lane, felt so many emotions, asked myself questions and never left the edge of seat. I absolutely love the way that Dalvin loves Tahli. It is so beautifully scary. The whole, I mean WHOLE entire time I was reading the book all I’m thinking is… do I want someone to love me like Vin? As hard as Vin? Because though Vin loves the SHIT out of Tahli he does his dirt and doesn’t love himself. Through my healing journey that I’m still on… loving yourself is imperative!
I have been hearing about this book for a while and was attending an event where @bytakerraallen will be attending… I felt like .. NOW … lol is the time. I adored every part of the book. The soul connection and pull they have to each other and the way Vin is going to design his destiny.. with Tahli.. it is amazing!!! Now, don’t feel me wrong, as beautiful as their relationship was, it wad also a ratchet egotistical rollercoaster at times that I’m not mad that I got on. Now, in this first book, The Fall. That’s what they do. Fall for each other and HARD. Both can NOT shake each other no matter what they do. Tahli knows in her heart mind body and soul but be trying to play with Vin. Which, I cannot lie and say Vin isn’t a trip. I may have stalled him out too. However, Vin is SO DAMN persistent. He’s gonna shout from the rooftops Tahli is his! No one else’s and if anyone wants to see how trying to make her theirs will turn out… they are welcome to try. 🥴 Poor Drew lol. Anywhooooo! Such a great start to an extraordinary, out of this world love. I can NOT wait to end the series. I’m reading the second book, The Glide and baybeeee! My heart can’t take it. My body and soul
keep jumping out of itself. This kind of push and pull love is A LOT! I would HIGHLY recommend this book and the series now that I’m almost done with book two to ANYONE. It is a little triggering, I had to take my breaks, but like a boomerang… I kept coming right back! by @readthatchaptergirl

Deep was so cute. I wondered why it was named Deep and I loved how the story came together with the title. I love the names that coincide with the waters and Africa; I think it was thoughtfully written. This was my first fantasy! If there was another, it wasn’t memorable. I started this hesitantly. I was in Natavia’s line during CCLF. I got my copy of Hood’s Story 😊, but everyone in the line was talking about her fantasy books. Which I didn’t realize she wrote. I have had the audio book for sometime now and I was in a reading/ listening slump. Side note, my bestie/sister loves fantasy, so it was time to jump in. I jumped right into the deep end 😅 and I think ima wade the waters here until the second book is over. I loved it. I really got hooked when Zambezi ass came on the scene. If I was a water fairy… 🧚🏾‍♀️I definitely would’ve had me a sea dragon to protect me 😊. This was a refreshing fantasy! Though it was fantasy, it still had that urban gangsta feel to it. @author_natavia_ made you feel something about these characters chile. Shore grew on me. Especially once she started coming into herself. Was so happy to see it. Zambezi is my favorite hands down, first time he was introduced 😂 Though he had some growing to do, growing he did and like Shore,“Ima stick beside him.”The reef sisters are hilarious and my kinda people. Except Lake. She is hateful. 😑 Caspian, because he’s Zambezi’s father I wanted to like him but …. Idk about his ass. He needs to redeem himself in Deep 2. Bai is the homie. I want him to think about his love interests, but …Bai was cool. Typical little brother. Now Sabrina’s ass annoyed tf outta me. Being all drunk and whatnot, but once she came into herself … 👏🏾 I’m ready to see my girl, Oceania be a boss. Auntie Jewel… that’s my girl too. I’m trying to live on her island. Have it up there. Hope Deep Two is just as funny, drama filled and truth telling as the first. Off I go.🧚🏾‍♀️ by @readthatchaptergirl

Rae Lyse… Rae Lyse…. Rae Lyse. 🤦🏾‍♀️ When I say she knows how to write a slow burn romance, she KNOWS what she is doing. The way she writes her stories… it pulls you in slowly, patiently making you learn and understand the FMC, MMC, and the most important people in their lives. She makes you feel their emotions, good or bad. Drags you along to deal with their problems. Personally, I usually question, do I still want to read this, somewhere in the middle(because I’m still getting used to slow burns), then always I regret that I even had that thought once I push through to the end. I first felt that feeling with Saving Sun Flower, then I really felt it with Bunny. Oh em gee, did I feel that feeling with Bunny. However, I ended up with a book hangover after the whole series. 🤦🏾‍♀️ wishing for Mrs. Rae Lyse to write more slow burns. Then came Joliet a year or so later and I felt that feeling again. It was actually slower than both Saving Sunflower and Bunny, but when it hit. It hit! Joliet changed the trajectory of my TBR list. After I read Joliet, I had NO choice but to read a slow burn that makes me think about the characters months later. (Often I wonder how Pup and Slim are. Think Dominic better be treating Claudette right and have confidence in himself for her and their family. Josiah loved his babies! 🥰 Bunny and Dezzy really annoyed me, but I know they living their best life together… finally. Nuney!!! That’s all I have to say 🫶🏾😃 Well…. reading At the End of It All, was inevitable for me to read. It was amazing. I love me some Ace and his Lourdes. I love that their connection was almost instant. I loved that though it was quick; at the same time it built slowly, shakily, but surely. Their similarities, and what ultimately connects them together, is unsettling because it’s sad and beautiful all at the same time. It’s a lot like soul tied … a fated couple. They nurtured each other, held space for each other and told each other their truths. It was a beautiful read or ride! I always end up wanting more pages from @raelysebooks because how did rehab go? I want to go on that journey with Ace and Phat! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ by @readthatchaptergirl

@winewithwriters thank you for allowing me to volunteer and be in community with you all. It was such a honor to meet, converse and just be around amazing authors willing to talk freely, encouragingly, and intentionally to the people that LOVE their work. I met extraordinary people that I hope I will get to be around again. I got to experience an atmosphere that was created purposefully at a breathtaking place that is right down the street in Baltimore. 🙌🏾🫶🏾 I will be back again and can NOT wait to be apart of that exuberant energy again. @wordtherapybookclub LOVING THE BOOK GIRLS ! @victoriaadamskennedy by @readthatchaptergirl

Needed to run this back again! LOVE THIS BOOK Love Nasir! Syven is so innocent. Britlynn is crazy af! Bryson … I get it but a cry baby. Lania … not sure how to spell it but can’t wait for her to grow up. @_authortaymonae You did this book! Update: Ran it back just for it to have me in a chokehold again. &Then There Was You 2 … just as good. Chokehold just as tight. Ran through this again. Might need the physical copy. Update: Done! Loved the end so bad that I’m confused why there wasn’t any more pages. 🤨😒🥺 I need and want a part two. I need more of Slim and Pup together and comfortable in their lives and love for one another. I need to see if Arnez can move on and find another love of her own that she actually deserves. Aunt Faye made her choice … how does that life look?? I want a part two! I’ve been with them through the struggle … I gotta read about their come up. by @readthatchaptergirl
