"It's sometimes more dangerous to shy away. You can't live your life in fear. You have to be prepared to get on board and stand on your feet."

What a sweet book this has been. In 'How to stop time' we follow Tom Hazard, a seemingly ordinary 41 year old man, but secretly he has been alive for centuries. But has he really been alive? He goes from era to era every few years by changing his identity to stay alive. But does he really live?
The book made me think, and I especially loved the quote above. Life isn't worth living if you always shy away, if you always live in fear, if you don't open up, if you always avoid or procrastinate. You only live when you take the step.

I enjoyed reading the book, and it gave me an important lesson: Live in the moment.
"It is about time. It is about time I lived."

🇩🇪 German books 🇩🇪
Whenever I'm in Germany, I have to go visit the bookstores, even if I've already been there a few weeks prior. My German is definitely improving, and I have a few German books waiting for me to start reading, but somehow I haven't started yet. A good goal for the upcoming months!

Having more time on my hands at least means one positive thing: I have time to read :) I liked Carsten Henn's book a lot, such a sweet book! The other one wasn't my favourite 😊 by @readwith.flora

Dit boek staat al zo lang in mijn boekenkast, en omdat ik behoefte had aan iets luchtigers, leek dit me wel een goede keuze. Het boek is eigenlijk een verzameling van korte dagboekfragmenten van een werkloze actrice in de overgang. Er zitten wel wat grappige stukken tussen, maar ik had er net iets meer van verwacht: voor mij net te veel gehypet.

Big magic and the eclipse ✨️
I watched the eclipse in a creative way yesterday (by looking at the wall), and I thought it was so special! At the same time, I finished Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, a book about creativity. I haven't had the right mindspace in a really long time to be creative (including reading), so I'm glad its starting to to a little better. It's my goal to be more creative and live beyond fear in the time to follow! 🥰

Two books in three days! But I have to be honest, this wasn't my cup of tea. There were a few scenes that captured me, especially when it concerned Napoleon III, and I enjoyed how the main character doesn't see the world and the different religions so black and white, but I didn't really feel drawn into the book
