So it’s been AWHILE! I’m not quite sure what happened, whether life finally caught up to me or if reality became more important than giving myself an hour a day to read but, it’s been…almost a month since I picked up a book and even longer since I’ve been on booksta.

I’ve lost touch with friends, I’ve missed out on some new book releases, I’ve missed the small little family of book groups I was part of and ai don’t even want to look at people who abandoned me because I haven’t been posting content…but that is what it is.

But I’ve been feeling a lot less like myself and want to try to spend a little more time on me so I’m HOPING I can at least rekindle the love with my kindle and spend some much needed quality time together for at least an hour a day.

Anywho, I’m back and have missed you all!!

📚✨ Happy National Paperback Book Day! ✨📚

Today we’re celebrating the stories that have been read, reread, tossed in tote bags, packed for vacations, and loved until the spines show it. There’s just something special about a paperback. ❤️

If I’m not reading on my kindle it’s a paperback. Something about listening to the spine groan when you crack it open, the way the pages flutter easily, the smell of a paperback book. But most importantly the story that the book holds. Where the cover got the small tear, how the pages on the corner are bent from being tossed in a bag, the dog ear marks, the wrinkles in the spine from being read and reread so many times and even the discoloration to show how long you’ve owned something that touched your heart. I love everything about a paperback!!

I’m back…for now. I just have not been feeling instagram, bookstagram, facebook nothing. I haven’t been reading, I’ve just kind of been walking around like a stressed out bird who’s lost all its feathers and can’t find her way back to the nest.

That’s what prompted me to do this post. Honestly I don’t know how I have almost 2k followers because I’m so inconsistent, my reviews are lack luster, I read 1-2 books a month, no PR teams reaching out or ARC’s coming in for me to post. I read the same type of book over and over…you want cowboy recs? I’m your girl.

Anywho, for the people that are here and interact with my posts, I appreciate you and I hope somewhere along the way with some of my reviews I have helped someone find their new read or helped someone realize it may not be for them.

☕️Let’s talk book review☕️

📚Wolf.e by @authorpaisleyhope
⭐️: 4.5
🌶️: 4.25

This was a book of many firsts for me. First book by Paisley. First motorcycle romance. First book with blood and knife play. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but now I’m so sad it is over.

I am a big fan of Paisley’s writing after this book. It’s pacing is so well written. She spent time where she needed too and grazed over other things while still getting the point across.

The story itself follows Brin who is at somewhat of crossroads in her life when she runs into her best friend Layla who introduces her to a life she was always told to fear. In walks Wolfe, the morally gray rough around the edges President of the motorcycle club. He’s a one night stand guy who never has the same girl twice, until Brin walks into his life. The two test each others limits with what they are uncomfortable with and find the most unlikely match in each other and testing all morals to save the one they love.

For the first time in a long time, I found both main characters enjoyable! Brin is a badass with a smart mouth and the ability to make a man who has control break. Wolfe is sexy, like really sexy. He’s commanding and filthy yet sweet, caring and romantic.

Now for the spice. I STRONGLY suggest that you do not consider this book if you do not like plenty of smut (14 chapters) that you can’t skip, degradation, knife play, blood play, and captivity. If you do like spice this is top tier spice, it had me sweating 🥵🥵. When I tell you Wolfe is sexy I mean it.

☕️Let’s talk my current read☕️

📚Wolf.e by Paisley Hope

Before this dedication blurb, my friend @playsinrain told me aojad to read this series and I was a little skeptical of it. This is my first ever book that involved blood, breath and knife play, torture (to this extreme) and degradation. I was VERY skeptical but guys I started it yesterday and I’m already 164 pages in. I cannot put this down!
