Conflict of interest by @zarahdetand

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Zarah and her team for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book. It will be released on July 16th!

I was surprised how much I loved this book! I’ve been in a reading slump for months, unable to read anything and this was the perfect book to get me out of it. It was funny, fast paced with loveable characters and a romance that made me kick my feet in excitement. 🤭

Conflict of interest follows two characters, Finn and Jesse.

Finn moves to New York to start his surgery residency. Before his new job begins, he goes out one night to a club where he meets Jesse. A misunderstanding leads to Jesse believing Finn is a hooker 😳, he goes along with it thinking he’ll never see him again. Until he starts his new job and finds out that Finn not only works in the same hospital as him but will actually be his supervisor for the next few months 😱

Much needed holiday to Melbourne with my mother ❤️

- spent way too much money
- tried every vegan place I could find
- ate sooo much good food
- bought 9 new books (even though I'm in an awful reading slump)

It was a much needed reset after a very busy few months. Hopefully, this means I'll be able to start reading again and posting here!

This reading slump is killing me 😭 by @readwithmae4

2025 was a year of ups and downs.
Juggling year 12, studying for exams, work, and extracurriculars was a challenge, and that left me drained and not in the mood to read.

I failed at my reading goal spectacularly this year, finishing up 20 books behind. And that's okay! Because I took time off from reading, when it all got too overwhelming, but I still read so many incredible books.

I also maybe failed at my goals for this account? When I started taking bookstagram more seriously last January, I hoped that throughout 2025, I would be dedicated to this account, posting consistently and constantly improving my content whilst building a larger following. I finished the year kind of in between, I worked as hard as I could, but a lack of motivation during difficult times this year meant sometimes weeks without posting or reading a thing, and my follow count, only went up by about 200 all year.

But I'm determined to look to the positives, I met so many amazing other people in the bookstagram community this year. I read some amazing books AND I got to read an ARC for my most anticipated release of the year, Coldwire by Chloe Gong, as well as a bunch of other cool ARCs. The numbers might not look so impressive, but I felt so fulfilled through this account last year. I loved creating content, writing reviews and communicating with other people in the community. I'm so excited for 2026!! To continue working on the account I love so much and Improving my content everyday ❤️

Also I did succeed at another resolution! Last January I set myself a goal of becoming vegetarian, I have now been fully vegan for 8 months!!!!! That's something I'm proud of myself for!!!

I love you all soooooo much,

I hope you all had the best 2025, and I'm so excited to experience 2026 with you all!!!!

Lots of Love,
