— king of greed arc review

this is the third installment in the "kings of sin" series by author ana huang. kog tells the story of alessandra and dominic davenport, characters we met in the first book. we could say their ten-year marriage was marred by dominic's relentless pursuit of success, without realizing how it was straining their relationship. this led to alessandra wanting the divorce. i’m going to keep this review short and as spoiler free as possible.

tropes & genre:
- billionaire romance
- marriage in crisis
- second chance

both alessandra and dominic are undeniably exceptional characters, and their path throughout the book is an emotional rollercoaster, mixing heart-wrenching moments with heartwarming ones. in king of greed we find scenes filled with raw and intense emotions. i absolutely adored to see some of their past. these glimpses into their history felt like piecing together a puzzle, shedding light on the copuple's origins and the path that led them to their current circumstances.

i appreaciate the fact that we get to see the story from both of their perspectives, which helps to keep you hooked. overall, i enjoyed king of greed. ps: the side characters... yeah. i need more. by @readwithmaria

this was adorable! if you're a fan of college life, baseball, friends-to-lovers, and best friend's brother romance, then this book is an absolute must-read for you!

this book follows hallie, who makes a "homerun proposal," to lose her v card. imagine the shock hallie felt when she mistakenly handed her proposal' to who she believed was her bestfriend eli, only to discover that it was not him who received it, but his older brother and now roommate, lane. and surpise, he ends up signing it!

lane is an absolute sweetheart. i couldn't help but adore how he wholeheartedly committed himself to hallie and exhibited incredible patience with her. what added an extra layer of charm was the revelation that he had secretly been crushing on hallie for years – that just melted my heart. i'd say one of the standout features of this novel is the character development. lane is an incredibly sweet and charming hero, and his connection with hallie is beautifully portrayed. they've got this incredible chemistry, and their journey together is a total rollercoaster of emotions.

in short, "homerun proposal" is a heartwarming read that will have you cheering for hallie and lane's relationship. by @readwithmaria

bree has made her much-awaited return! 🤍 as the first installment of "the hawthornes" series, this novella it lived up to my high expectations, serving as a perfect starting point for rikkard and augustine's journey.

- boy obsessed

- dark academia vibes
- extroverted bf/introverted gf

augustine's introverted and reserved nature beautifully contrasts with rikkard’s outgoing and elite persona, creating an undeniable magnetic pull between the two characters.

set in the ivy league ambiance of harvard university, the story exudes an old money sophistication that adds a captivating layer to the romance.

beyond the compelling romance, bree's exceptional world-building skills deserve recognition. the portrayal of the harvard university setting and its dark academia atmosphere is nothing short of remarkable. the meticulous portrayal of the harvard university setting, immersed in dark academia aesthetics and prestigious society, was a treat to experience. additionally, the exploration of secret societies and challenging tests added an intriguing layer of depth to the story, leaving us readers fascinated and hungry for more.

the ending of the book left me completely stunned… bree I truly can't wait for hawthorne divorce.

the story begins with noelle shepard, who's facing challenges in in various aspects of her life. after her beloved grandmother passed away, noelle finds evidence of a forbidden love in her grandmother's past. creating a video seeking more information, she is led to paul, her grandma's secret love, paul, who offers her the chance to embark on a road trip originally planned for their never-taken honeymoon. the catch? paul's grandson, theo, who happens to be her former high-school rival, come along too.

the witty banter between noelle and paul is quite something, and the building tension between them was captivating. their dynamic was top-notch and thoroughly engaging. theo's character radiates a captivating charm and allure, yet sometimes he can be a grumpy hero who needs to be by himself. on the other hand, noelle is portrayed as an absolute sweetheart, endearing us readers with her kindness and warmth. the characters in this book are really well crafted and easy to connect with. noelle's portrayal of grief and her desire to reconnect with her grandmother deeply resonated with me. additionally, the way theo expresses his love and affection for his grandfather is truly special and one-of-a-kind. 🤍 also, i must add i loved the unique and poetic way in which photography was integrated into the story through paul and noelle's characters. 🎞️🫂

ps: paul was the standout character for me. sorry noelle and theo, i adore you two but my heart belongs to paul. by @readwithmaria

first of all STEPHANIE ARCHER I LOVE YOU. this book follows pippa, a gifted musician whose aspirations were shattered by her previous relationship. determined to rebuild, she discovers solace and a fresh start when she becomes the live-in assistant to jamie streicher, a brooding NHL goalie and her former high school crush.

genre & tropes:
- hockey romance
- forced proximity (roommates)
- grumpy/sunshine
- slow burn

as we read the book we find out that jamie's grumpy exterior hides a vulnerable heart, and watching his character evolve and open up is a true delight. overall, dynamic between pippa and jamie is electric, and their witty exchanges and undeniable chemistry is to die for.

i really enjoyed this book. i love a good grumpy/sunshine. AND DAISY I LOVE YOU!!! MY SWEET ANGEL!!! 🐶🤍
