How Zoe cleaned up her exchange in just 10 minutes👇

When most catchers want to improve their pop time, they immediately think they need a stronger arm.

Sometimes that’s true.

But a lot of the time, you’re losing tenths of a second because of inefficient movement.

With Zoe, we focused on:
• Letting the ball travel
• Eliminating unnecessary knee rotation
• Staying connected to the ground
• Creating a shorter, more direct transfer

The result was a noticeably quicker exchange without magically getting a stronger arm overnight.

This is exactly how we coach inside The Complete Catcher’s Framework

Every athlete receives individualized mechanical breakdowns from our team of professional catchers, so you’re not just doing random drills you know exactly what is slowing you down and how to fix it.

If you’re serious about cutting your pop time and becoming a an elite catcher, DM me the word ELITE and I’ll send you the details.

Playing in the biggest tournaments doesn’t automatically make you a better catcher 🤷🏻‍♀️⬇️

Don’t get me wrong, I think these are the best tournaments that you can play in and these are great environments to expose your strengths and weaknesses. But they don’t fix them.

The catchers, who keep separating themselves aren’t just competing on weekends

They are intentionally developing Monday through Friday

- receiving
- blocking
- throw downs
- strength, power, agility
- specialty skills
- mobility
- game IQ
- leadership

Tournament weekends are like the show, they reveal where you’re at

Your training determines how you’ll perform in the show & where you’ll be next season

If you’re serious about becoming the catcher that coaches, trust and recruiters notice, DM me STANDOUT and let’s talk about what intentional development could look like for your game

Hip mobility is NOT optional for catchers....⬇️

It is quite literally a performance multiplier

Quick shoutout to my amazing trainer @orangeanddrew for keeping me ✨mobile✨

More range = a lower, more stable setup (helps with framing
low pitches) faster blocks/ lateral movement

Strong, mobile hips transfer power up the chain, leading to quicker pop times and stronger throws

Arguably “most” important: less stress on the knees and low back during long innings

I do around 5-10 reps each side x2-3 rounds depending on how I am feeling. You know your body best so choose your own sets/reps!

Train mobility like you train skills because it shows up in the game⚡️

DM me ‘BLOCK’ for a free blocking resource⬇️

I’ll send you an in depth breakdown I did for one of the girls in my program (odds are you have the same issues)

Super simple way to explain lateral blocking: truck & trailer

Glove = Truck

Our glove should always move first since it our first line of defense.

Body = Trailer

Let our glove pull our body over for back up. AKA, let the truck pull the trailer

Always practice “perfectly” but in the game just do whatever you can to stop the ball

Vote YES or NO🤷🏻‍♀️ Here’s my opinion👀⬇️

For this reel I purposely picked a lot of frames that were pretty clearly balls and probably shouldn’t have been called strikes. So to my friends hitting in these clips... your eyes were correct😂

I’ve had a few people comment on some of my videos before saying that framing is cheating. Today I was filming content and ended up going down a rabbit hole looking at MLB catcher videos and I saw the same argument everywhere.

So here’s my take:
Receiving and framing is a fundamental skill of the catching position. It’s been part of the game forever. It’s not something catchers just recently started doing, it’s something that has always existed, but the way we analyze it now has gotten a lot more advanced.

At the MLB level, teams literally track pitch framing because of how valuable it is. There was a study done that elite catchers can save their team around 10-20 runs in a season just through framing borderline pitches. That’s a big deal!!
To put that in perspective, about 10 runs saved equals roughly one win in the standings.

So yes, framing absolutely impacts the outcome of games.
A lot of the argument I see is that framing is “deceiving the umpire.” But the reality is umpires know framing exists. It’s their job to judge where the pitch crosses the plate, not where the catcher catches it.

And at the end of the day, umpires are human. So if a catcher can present a pitch in a way that helps their pitcher get a strike call... we’re absolutely going to try to steal that strike.

Because stealing strikes means:
fewer walks, fewer hitters counts, fewer runners on base, fewer runs scored

Receiving and framing can literally change the outcome of a game.

“It’s not going to matter when ABS take over” … Sure, but ABS hasn't entered high level softball yet. and when it does it’s not going to completely replace every call the umpire makes. so until then I will continue to frame myself and teach the catchers in my programs to steal strikes as well.

So in my opinion...
Framing isn’t cheating, It’s just apart catching

Comment “block” if you want to improve your blocking (from ANY stance)

This blocking instruction is for a stance with a left knee on the ground !

For a right knee on the ground, just flip flop the left and right demos!

Straight on: simply flip your glove down and smother the ball with your upper body

Left: keep your left knee light, transfer your weight into your right leg, and explode laterally

Right: make sure to be up on your toes because we are using our left foot as an anchor to push off laterally. Your right knee should curl down and around the ball

Tip: try to catch every block with your belly button!!

Can you spot my mistake?👀⬇️

Let’s break this play down.

The outfielder’s throw was pretty much on the money. It took me slightly up the line, but I stayed clear of obstruction. (Hard to see the umpire in this clip but the call on the field was just “safe” no obstruction call)

The runner clipped my knee and took a hard fall, so she never touched home plate. Regardless of my mistake, she still should’ve been called out. The umpire missed it, kind of crazy, but it is what it is. Control what you can control!

That said, I still gave myself the chance to lose the out by making my own mistake.

Here’s what I teach the catchers I coach:

Bang bang play = one hand tag
Lots of time = two hand tag

I chose a two hand tag.

That forced me to rotate my entire body before I could apply the tag, making the play much slower than it needed to be.

I also set up too square to the field with my chest facing center field. Instead, I should’ve rotated my body more (similar to how a first baseman cuts a throw to home) so the throw’s momentum carried me naturally into a quick one handed swipe tag.

I’ve been catching for over 20 years. I’ve played professionally. But I’ll never be too experienced to admit when I mess something up.

That’s why I’m posting this.

Every catcher, no matter the level is going to make mistakes.

If you didn’t notice the mistake the first time you watched this clip, hopefully now you’ll be ready if you’re ever in the same situation.

Did you catch the mistake before reading the caption?

Stop LOSING Strikes❌ I was working with two college catchers, my teammates here in Holland, and all we worked on today was glove path. They are really good catchers with…. But always good to get a refresher and take it back to basics. This is basically the first thing I told them during our mini training sesh today.

An incorrect glove path is the number one issue I see among catchers who first start in my program.

Having an incorrect glove path is detrimental for two reasons:

1. You are giving yourself no chance to turn an in between ball into a strike.

2. Even if the pitch is already in the zone, you could turn a strike into a ball because of the poor presentation.

The fix is super simple. Step one is fixing your path. Just imagine that there is a ramp moving from the ground up to the pitch you are receiving. Step two is just getting your timing down. Always aim to receive the bottom of the softball to avoid glove bounce. Pitch that are inside or outside I like to think of your glove path like its moving up a spiral staircase (idk if that makes sense or not)

If you need help with your receiving and other fundamentals,
DM me the word “catch” and I will send you more information about working with my team and I to get you dialed behind the plate⚡ by @reagainz1
