20 years married. 26 years together.

We met when we were basically kids, and somehow here we are — raising two incredible kids, building careers, renovating a beautiful new home, surviving more chaos than I care to count, and continuing to choose each other through every version of this life.

Twenty years ago, we had an absolutely CRAZY wedding…which, in hindsight, was probably just foreshadowing for the life we were about to build.

It hasn’t always been easy. We have been tested time and time again. We’ve had seasons that were beautiful and seasons that were really freaking hard. But through all of it, there has always been one constant: us. We choose each other. Again and again.

We were lucky enough to sneak away for a few days to celebrate — somehow at the exact moment dance season AND football season were starting — and it was so much fun to just be together. No schedules, no kids needing something, no practices, rehearsals, meetings, house projects…just us. I had almost forgotten how much I like you.

Richie, you are my person. My partner in all of this crazy. There is no one else I would rather have beside me for the beautiful, messy, exhausting, hilarious life we have created.

I love you. I love us. And I feel incredibly lucky to be here, 20 years later, still choosing you.

I hope you have a wonderful 20th Anniversary dinner with the Erie Football Team tonight. I’ll look forward to seeing you again sometime in December.

High five, babe.

We are truly overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of love and support our family has received since sharing our story. 
The comments, texts, DMs, and phone calls have been incredibly heartwarming and reassuring—especially after months of feeling frustrated and disappointed by the response and lack of action we received from the school administration. 
We have an AMAZING village, and we are so fortunate to be surrounded by friends, family, dancers, parents, teachers, coaches, colleagues, and members of the dance community who have reached out with love, encouragement, and support. 
Thank you for listening. Thank you for checking in. Thank you for reminding us that speaking up matters.

Spent some time in the ER last Wednesday due to a fun brush with norovirus (made extra great while sill healing from the removal of organs). She was on a plane Friday to travel with her team to compete and take class at convention and earned herself an honored dancer nomination. Competed Saturday and Sunday this weekend (Sunday was a full 12 hours), while studying for AP presentations and tests, and earned herself a category win and top 10 overall…not to mention 1st overall in every group division.
This is all while still healing her body from major surgery, and her mind from a traumatic experience and the failures of adults she expected she could trust.

Charlie is able to be the force she is because of the incredible support system she has. Her AMAZING coaches at the studio that have loved and encouraged her through every high and every low, her school counselor that has been the most amazing shoulder and ear, her EHS teachers, our village of fellow dance moms who cheer her on and hug her tight, and our wonderfully supportive family that are there for anything she needs.

Charlie is a force, and can be so with the army of supporters she has behind her. We are beyond grateful, and so so proud. by @reagsm11

A life threatening illness and surgery, a prolonged hospital stay in another state, a death in the family, more illness, a competition, a state hockey tournament, countless meetings advocating for our daughter, a quick trip to Disneyland, selling our house, packing our house, renovating our new house, and now moving into a hotel for a while until renovations are more complete.

We have much to celebrate and so much to be grateful for…but good grief are we looking forward to just some normal. Granted our normal is still above the speed limit, but we have been driving upside-down and blindfolded for a bit too long and our nervous systems could use the break.

Rest in Peace Nana
October 16, 1925-March 8, 2026

It brings me comfort to know you are reunited with Grandpa and your wonderful daughter Sandy. Although I will miss you immensely, and this hurts right now, I know what a gift it was to have you for as long as I did.

Thank you for windmill cookies, Lake Michigan adventures, Jello Salad, pool days, the greatest holiday gatherings, and a life filled with memories of warmth, laughter, fun, and endless love.

Still in FL…

11 days ago we came to Florida for dance and Disney. She danced at the National Dance Team Championship, did a little Disney with her team, and then, before the trip was over, was admitted to the hospital. Charlie, the picture of strength and health, has been in a dogfight with complications from the flu ever since.

6 days ago we sent Hudson, Grandma, and Richie home to CO believing we only be 48 hours behind them. Thinking she just needed a little IV fluids, some meds, and she’d be on the mend. But bad turned to worse, then critical, and next thing we knew, our beautiful girl was in emergency surgery to remove parts of her small and large intestines and appendix.

We are now dealing with complications from the surgery, a continued fight to rid her body of infection, and then…ensuring she is strong enough to travel home. It is a roller coaster of emotions, small pockets of rest between vitals checks and blood draws, and exam after exam by her extensive team of doctors. IT IS GRUELING.

She is unbelievably brave and harbors super human strength. The pain, illness, fever, pokes, prods, and removal of organs that little body has been through is crazy to me. Yet she still makes jokes, is so polite, and continues to assure me that she will be okay. She has only allowed a few tears, and they are only tears about missing friends, family, dance, and school. Not one from illness or pain.

My world is standing still until I know she is safe and recovery is imminent. I can’t focus on anything else. I want her home, my family together in our house, and then I can take a full deep breath (and maybe sleep longer than 3 hours).

We are also SO grateful to our wonderful nurses and doctors. We have been the recipients of incredible kindness, support, and compassion. Not to mention top-notch medical care. This situation would have felt much worse had we not felt so cared for the entire time.

We will continue to take this one hour and one small victory at a time. Please keep our Charlie Girl in your thoughts as she keeps fighting. We know she feels the strength and positivity of her village and my mom heart does as well 🤍 taken in AdventHealth for Children by @reagsm11

Always want to Accentuate the Positive and celebrate the MANY gifts in my life. I close the door on 2025 with gratitude. Gratitude for the difficulties, the lessons, the beauty, and the blessings.

Baby B is 16!

Hudson, not a day goes by that we aren’t grateful for you. Your life has always been a gift, and we cherish it. We are so proud of you in all you do. Make year 16 your best yet, MAKE GOOD CHOICES, and please obey all traffic laws.
