Kurt Vile at Gloria in Cologne on 30 August 2026. Sorry I'm so late with posting.

We loved Kurt's set which was mostly based on songs from the latest album, and some older songs as well. Of course, Kurt Vile has been good to us. :) And I love his hair!

This is 'Chance to Bleed' from the Philadelphia has been good to me album.

We love the venue as well (a former cinema, I believe).

Horsegirl were support for Kurt Vile at Gloria in Cologne on 30 August 2026.

Three young play in this young band. We really loved their set. Unfortunately, we were at the back of the club so it was hard to see anything. The video doesn't reflect that as I used a zoom. I recommend this band for their music.

After the show, I bought their latest album at the merchandising stall, and the three musicians signed it for me. Thanks!

Sorry, I'm not "insta(nt" at all, quite late actually ...

We saw Nick Cave live at Kunstrasen in Bonn on 25 August 2026, a heartfelt performance that included some gospel background singers, who turned this into an even more religious event.

Mercy Seat being my favourite Nick Cave song, it was a true highlight in a 10/10 concert.

As trains from Cologne back home have caused trouble for the last few months, we stayed in Bonn overnight. :)

Charming local band The Naggs were on in the afternoon at Rock gegen Rechts festival.

We saw them a few years ago and I have a feeling that they have improved their instrumental skills a lot.

Their songwriting is really good, too.

We saw German Ska band The Busters headlining the Rock gegen Rechts festival (festival against fascism) yesterday. The festival grounds which were in our favourite park were very crowded when they were playing and many people seemed to know the lyrics of songs and were clapping. So it was a tremendous success for them, and also for an important cause. We really enjoyed their energetic performance.

Our local band Dead Dates played in the old town yesterday 15 August 2026, at lunch time.

Of course, we enjoyed the set a lot.

It was all for a good cause - the Old Town soup kitchen that provides poor people with a warm meal every day. Too bad that this is needed at all but it's good that they are getting support from bands like the Dead Dates as well.

They provided us with a healthy lentil soup as well, for a donation.

Die Toten Hosen, probably our biggest local band, on their final tour. The large arena was sold out. We saw the first of two nights (Friday 3 July).

Pulp on a Monday night - 29 June 2026 - in Cologne at the terrible Palladium venue (it's impossible to see anything). Having said that, the band sounded great and it was a fantastic concert.

It was my first Pulp show. They haven't been to Germany all too many times. Jarvis Cocker mentioned that the previous show in Cologne had been in 1995 - more than thirty years ago. He spoke a lot in-between songs which was nice.

There were a few unusual things that night: 1) The show started in time, at 8:00 o'clock, without any support act. We had only just arrived, lol. My colleague who was there as well missed the beginning. 2) There was a fifteen-minute break at the middle of the set which was about 2 hours 20 minutes long.

Of course, we got treated to lots of the band's well-known songs but they also played a few gems, like the newish song from the War Child sampler. The audience also got to choose between two songs and 'Pencil Skirt' won and was played.

Father John Misty played at Carlswerk Victoria venue in Cologne on Tuesday night - 9 June 2026. We had a really great evening. One of my colleagues also had tickets, so it was nice to meet him.
