One year.

One year since I stepped back into a wrestling ring after an ACL injury kept me away from the thing I love most in this world for 19 months.

There were a lot of moments during that time when I wasn’t sure what coming back would look like, or if I’d ever truly feel like myself in that ring again. And even after I returned, the journey hasn’t exactly been easy. There have been plenty of obstacles, setbacks, and moments that tested me in ways that had nothing to do with wrestling.

But somehow, I’m still here.

A year later, I’m still getting to walk through that curtain. I’m still getting to learn, grow, hurt, sweat, laugh, fight, and do what I love. I’m still chasing the version of myself that I know is capable of more.

And for that, I’m incredibly grateful.

I don’t take a single match, opportunity, opponent, crowd, or moment for granted anymore. Getting this taken away from me for nearly two years made me appreciate just how much of my heart belongs to this.

Recently, we lost someone who understood that feeling better than most. I’ll never forget this quote for the rest of my life:

“Throw your heart out in front of you and run ahead to catch it.” -PAC

That’s what I gotta do.

One year back. Still running. Still chasing it. Still blessed enough to call this my life. Still EATING. 🍽️

Thank you to everyone who has been there for me along the way. ❤️

Here’s to whatever comes next. 🍽️ by @realbobbybuffet
