At AFRIFF, the future of African cinema comes into focus.

Two-time Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou steps into the Frame of the Future — capturing what’s next, today — where story, culture, and vision collide.

Meet Djimon on November 1 on the AFRIFF Red Carpet in Lagos.

I jumped on this challenge just to see my sons reaction . First off we argued about the camera facing him I had to tell him my phone had dual recording then he agreed to it . Then he starts asking for purpose. Why are you making this video I told him Arise news wanted me to talk about a child and he goes pls talk about one of the girls After we got done he goes….before you mentioned my name I knew it was me. He says pls delete my name I want to remain anonymous and I don’t want the other boys feeling bad as you mentioned he before my name. #iamtiredalready but still I’m love ❤️ by @realchiomaude

African cinema continues to rise because of the visionaries who create spaces for its stories to be seen, celebrated, and amplified.

The Mwankom Plus Vanguard Award for film presented in partnership with @martellng and @rollingstoneafrica honors Chioma Ude for her extraordinary contribution to African cinema — the vision and tenacity behind @afriff, and the creation of a world-class platform that is transforming the landscape for African storytelling on home soil and beyond.

What she has built is more than a festival, it is a statement about where African film belongs.

Congratulations, @realchiomaude.

Receiving the Mwankom Vanguard Award from @rollingstoneafrica is something I will carry with me for a long time. To be recognised for work I love, on a continent I love, means everything. None of this exists without the @afriff team, their dedication, creativity, and belief in what we are building together is the real story behind every achievement. This one is for us all. The culture custodian was definitely in the room thanks to Rollingstone Africa 🥂✨ by @realchiomaude
