It's only 8.5% Black African Americans Tailors in the U.S. and as far as I am concerned I am the youngest, independent Black male Tailor in Dallas Texas. I've known my worth but things like this always bring it back full circle. We are walking around #blackhistory everyday. Thank God, I've developed the skills that no one could ever talk from me. People see you, no matter what you think 🙏🏾. This makes the first FULL year of 100% entrepreneurship in my business and I must say it is going to be a story to tell. A proper fit is about more than measurements. It’s about understanding the structure of the garment and the person wearing it.

A shoulder shave is one of those alterations where precision makes all the difference. The objective isn’t simply to remove excess fabric, but to refine the shoulder line while preserving the balance, shape, and integrity of the jacket.

Too much adjustment can compromise the silhouette. Too little, and the original issue remains.

After 15 years in this craft, I’ve learned that some of the most important alterations are the ones you barely notice.

The difference is in the details. The experience is in knowing what to change and what to leave alone.

Lately, I’ve been reminding myself to look around.

When you’re ambitious, it’s easy to spend so much time thinking about what’s next that you forget to appreciate what’s happening right now.

I get to do something I love. I get to build something with my name on it. I get to create, learn, grow, and wake up with a reason to keep pushing.

That alone is a blessing.

Of course I want more. I have goals I haven’t touched yet and a vision for my life that gets bigger every year. But wanting more doesn’t mean I can’t be grateful for what I already have.

I’m proud of where I am. I’m excited about where I’m going. But more than anything, I’m grateful to be here.

Still hungry. Still grateful. Still becoming.

Nobody but GOD🙏🏾....

Just a young country man from Greenville, Mississippi building something that the world will read about in history books.

It doesn't take showing up on social media everyday, but it does take showing up in real life for yourself. It doesn't take people pleasing, devaluing yourself or lowering your prices, but it does take pleasing God by knowing your true value and being diligent and persistent with your gift. It takes all the sacrificing, all the late nights, all the " I'll have to catch y'all another time" All Of It ! . It's ok though, with great things, even more is required. - now back to work 🪡

Some people see a sewing machine.

I see a daily reminder that excellence isn’t rushed.

Every garment teaches the same lesson: measure carefully, make the adjustment, step back, and keep refining until it’s right.

Maybe that’s true beyond tailoring, too.

The things that look effortless are usually the result of countless small decisions no one ever sees.

The work behind the work is what makes the difference.

Had the opportunity to speak to the city of Arlington, Texas' youth about style, confidence, career, and knowing how to show up in the world.

I wanted them to understand that presentation matters but confidence starts on the inside first. Before the clothes, before the shoes, before the title… you have to know who you are.

I’m grateful I got to share part of my story, my craft, and a few lessons I wish somebody would’ve told me earlier.

This is bigger than tailoring. It’s about purpose, discipline, and helping the next generation see what’s possible.

Walking through life the same way I walk through rooms…
observing, learning, adjusting.

Still figuring things out, but
I’m doing it with intention now.

but I carry myself like I will.

I just want to help a young black man right now that is in his development stages in life..

Bruh get out of your own head and stop listening to negative people. You are right where you need to be, I can promise that.

Don't take where you are now for granted, because you have not gained enough knowledge or experience to move forward.

I don't take opportunities like this for granted especially being from where I'm from. I thank God for not only allowing me to witness a legend while he is still alive, but I also thank God for allowing me to be his tailor. @teddyriley1 thank you for trusting me to make some of your visions come to life and congratulations on the new book @rememberthetimesamemoir.
