We moved our kids from the metro area of Minneapolis to 60 acres in rural Wisconsin to give them a better life. It’s not always easy, but it’s the life we’ve always dreamed of. Follow along as we learn homesteading. It’s sure to be entertaining and educational!

We just bought an ionic hydrogen water machine and have been drinking it for only a few weeks. What we’ve noticed so far: definitely an increase in our ability to push it working out (decreases lactic acid), better hydration, clearer mind, better sleep, less pain (!!!), and just an overall better feeling. So excited to see what comes from long term drinking this. If you’re interested in checking this out, comment “link” and I will DM you some amazing info!

You don’t need an expensive mill. I have one and never use it!! The vitamix grain bucket is so much easier! Comment “link” and I’ll send you a link to the one I have.

Elderberry syrup has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for colds and flu. The berries are packed with compounds that support the immune system.

Key health benefits

1. Antiviral activity. It contains flavonoids (especially anthocyanins) that can block viruses from attaching to and entering cells, which may reduce how long viral infections last.

2. Shortens cold and flu duration. Several studies found elderberry extract can reduce the severity and duration of influenza symptoms by about 2–4 days when taken early.

3. Immune system support. Elderberries are rich in vitamin C, polyphenols, and antioxidants that stimulate immune response and help the body fight infections.

4. Anti-inflammatory effects. The anthocyanins in elderberries have strong anti-inflammatory activity, which may help reduce sinus pressure, body aches, and swelling during illness.

5. High antioxidant content. Elderberries rank extremely high in antioxidant capacity, helping combat oxidative stress and support overall immune resilience.

Important note: Raw elderberries, stems, and leaves contain compounds that can cause nausea. They must be cooked, which is why they’re commonly made into syrup.

Elderberry syrup is most useful at the first sign of illness to help the body fight viruses and shorten symptoms.

My family takes 1 tbsp daily for prevention when illness is going around, and we increase the dose frequency during illness. Not intended to be taken as medical advice. This is just what we do ♥️

🍓 Healthy jigglers! A better version of those Jello jigglers from when I was a kid.

So easy: 1 Tbsp gelatin to 1 cup juice. Any juice works. Put 4 Tbsp gelatin into one cup juice in a bowl. Set aside to bloom. Heat remaining 3 cups of juice until simmering in a sauce pan. Pour over bloomed gelatin. Whisk until it’s dissolved. Pour into molds. Refrigerate until set. Enjoy!
