L'ultima Canzone - Tosti

#opera #gabrielgitman #music #tosti #classical

Pianist - Jenny Kim
Singer - Gabriel Gitman

L’ultima canzone (“The Last Song”) by Francesco Paolo Tosti is a deeply moving Italian art song composed in 1905, with words by Francesco Cimmino. It tells the story of a man who sings one final serenade to his beloved Nina on the eve of her wedding to another man. Remembering their past love, kisses, and promises, he faces the heartbreak of losing her while hoping that his song will live on in her memory. Tosti’s expressive melody and lyrical phrasing convey a mixture of tenderness, longing, resignation, and quiet despair. Beneath its romantic beauty lies a universal theme: the desire to preserve love through music when the relationship itself can no longer endure. taken in Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney by @realgabrielgitman

After an amazing 94 show run in Sydney, The Greatest Showman Spectacular has finished its tour in Sydney. I have had the privilege to work as a front of house assistant with, to be honest, the best ushering crew I have seen.

It has been an honor to work our entire team!!! Most importantly, thank you to Shane, my absolute best friend in the theatre world, and Rick, one of the greatest human beings to work with. They were both our show runners and managers and have done an absolute amazing job! As always, I learn so much from these two, I will never be able to thank them. Thank you Paul for your absolute hard work with this show, my man when from being an understudy of Piange in Phantom to Operation Supervisor 🔥

Thank you to our amazing cast! E V E R Y O N E WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The singing, the dancing, the acrobats, the attitude, and most importantly, the fun! I have made some really great forever friends I will not forget.

Thank you to Charly and Liam, you both felt like brothers to me!

I can't wait to see whats next for Come Alive, Good luck in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.

After nearly 35 shows of the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour Phantom Of The Opera, the show will be coming to an end on Sunday, the 3rd May 2026.

Working nearly half the shows as a volunteer, I have had the honor to meet some of the most amazing people in the industry! Working a side on behalf of Opera Australia as a welcoming Volunteer, I have learnt so much about the industry, words cannot begin to express how grateful I am for having the privilege of joining the team.

I would like to congratulate the whole cast, including Jake, Amy, Jarrod for taking on the main roles! Jake played the Phantom in such an exceptional manner, to me, this was THE best production yet of Phantom Of The Opera!

I can't wait to work with all you one day again! taken in Fleet Steps by @realgabrielgitman

After 3 months of intense works,@thefrloop (Natacha) and I have completed our production of Le Roi Soleil, with our remarkable 23 students, team of 10, but most importantly, the collaborative work Natacha and I had throughout these last 3 months!

To me, we are considered the dream team, we understand each other and have accomplished work that is very hard to do on such little time!

I want to seriously thank Natacha for all of the knowledge she offered, taught and explained throughout the project!

It was certainly a very unique experience going from Jean Valjean 2 years ago from Les Miserables (on stage) to Musical Director of Le Roi Soleil!

What a journey 👏 👌 😎🎶

It was with great pleasure to celebrate 60 years at the International French School of Sydney.

I performed the Australian and French National anthem.

After attending LCS for a remarkable 13 years (from Kindergarten - Year 12), it was an awesome night seeing all my teachers or I suppose colleagues now 🤣.

Happy 60 years LCS and to many more. taken in Lycée Condorcet Sydney - International French School by @realgabrielgitman
