Wow. What an incredible honour.

I am truly humbled and deeply grateful to receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (D.C.S.M.), carrying the title Datuk Wira, conferred by His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka.

For my friends and students overseas, the D.C.S.M. is a Melaka state honour carrying the title Datuk Wira, commonly described in English as the rank of Knight Commander.

To be recognised in this way is deeply meaningful and humbling, especially when I think of all the people who have helped shape my journey.

My family, mentors, team, students and friends. There are simply too many people to thank individually, but I know nobody gets anywhere entirely on their own.

Having my Mom, my wife and our kids there watching me receive the honour made the day even more special. I only wish Dad could have been sitting there with us too.

I know he would have been proud.

Datuk Wira Joey Yap.

Still getting used to that one. 😂

Dad would probably have had a good laugh too. Then, knowing him, he’d have said, “Don’t let this get into your head. There’s still plenty of work to do.”

And he’d be right.

For three decades, since I started in 1996, I’ve been fortunate to do work I truly believe in, teaching, sharing and helping people around the world create meaningful change in their lives.

This honour inspires me to take that work even further. To reach more people, create greater impact, and bring what I have learned, and what our Malaysian and Chinese cultural heritage have to offer, to an even wider global audience.

There is still so much more I want to do, and on a much bigger scale.

If I can make a meaningful difference in the world and make Malaysia proud along the way, that would be a meaningful way to honour this title and the responsibility that comes with it.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.

And Dad, this one’s for you. by @realjoeyyap

London, thank you for every question, every nod and every “wait, say that again.”
We had a lot of fun with you. Feng Shui can sound like rules about where to put a bed, but the real good stuff is noticing how a space makes you feel and what it quietly nudges you to do. Watching that click happen for people is the best part of this work.
So we are taking the good stuff with us.

Next stop: Dallas. Same warmth, same hands on teaching, and a whole new set of rooms to look at with fresh eyes.

If you were with us in London, thanks for being part of it. If you are coming to Dallas, we would love to see you there.

Part 2

Working more hours can increase your income, but only until time becomes the constraint.

At that point, the question changes.

"How can you make each hour more valuable?"
"How can you build income that is not tied entirely to your own working hours?"

This video shows how Joey Yap examines why growth often requires skills beyond your current toolset, and how stronger cash flow can create more options for the assets you already own through QiMen.

And this is one of the best parts in Thrive! Getting your questions answered.

You can be grateful for the life you’ve built and still wonder what comes next.

A career can look settled while one question keeps returning: “Is this still where I want to place the next few years of my life?”

That question doesn’t demand an immediate change, but it deserves a closer look.

Watch the video, then join me for YOUR NEXT MOVE, my free training on the Art of QiMen Divination. You’ll learn how a QiMen Oracle Chart examines a specific question, including the people and timing around it.

Sometimes it does not.

From failing 4 subjects and skipping lectures to discovering a completely unexpected passion in metaphysics, this unexpected journey shows why early "failures" don't define your future.

Over 3,000 years ago, Shang-dynasty rulers used oracle bones to ask about harvests, war and illness. Other cultures had their own methods, but the problem was shared: how do you decide when you can’t know everything?

QiMen Dun Jia is a later Chinese tradition of studying time, direction, circumstances and strategy. QiMen Divination examines a specific question and the people, timing, risks and possibilities around it.

Swipe through.

Is that hesitation intuition, or is it fear?

You leave the message unsent.
You ask one more person what they would do.

In the end, you are still going back and forth.

Another opinion may help. But it may not reveal what you have overlooked in the situation itself.

The timing. The people involved. The risks. The conditions that could change what happens next.

Watch the video to see how QiMen Divination approaches a specific question from a different perspective, before the decision is yours to make.

Then join me for YOUR NEXT MOVE, my free training on the Art of QiMen Divination.

Bring one decision with you. We’ll examine the framework step by step.

Be careful what you ask for. You might actually get it.

A higher paying offer. A role with more freedom. A business deal that looks attractive but stays a little vague on the details. Now you have options, and choosing between them is its own problem.

In this video, Joey Yap shares how to weigh your choices, look closely at what seems promising and understand the people involved before you commit.

Then comes the free training, “Your Next Move”. Using QiMen divination, you’ll gain clarity on your real dilemmas and the decisions you haven’t made yet.
