Bit of a hiatus from hobby but I swear this is my last Great Hunger - Trench Crusade post….. for now.
Really awesome time with these grail hounds for the warband, all FDM printed original Factory fortress models for the base and various bit box additions from a game system far in the future.
Really happy with the skin tones from Dystopian Brown care of @grimdark_compendium
Onto the next set of rotten creations now.

++Dark Mechanicum; Festus Profanus Of the Leech Engines ⚙️++

@the.grimdark.trials chrono heresy entry

Once sworn to Mars, now sworn only to rust and rot. Bloated with stolen augmetics and heretek grafts, Festus drifts across the wastelands atop his colossal Dusting Slug… a glistening, abomination that leaves a trail of corrosive spoor and stripped battlefields in its wake.
Where others see wreckage, Festus sees communion. His mechadendrites pierce broken war machines like feeding proboscises, siphoning data, oil, and sacred scrap into his swollen form. Titans lie hollowed, picked clean by the Leech Engines that chitter in his shadow.
His body is a reliquary of theft — reactor-heart humming, cables twitching like veins, vox-grilles whispering binharic litanies that curdle the air. Every bolt absorbed is another step away from the Omnissiah… and closer to apotheosis.

He does not build.

He consumes.

Not normally for the WIP posts, but had a lot of fun doing some collab with the bro @sudsymcgee1 on this sick sculpt for his warband after some games with the lads.
Looking forward to seeing it all finished up!

The Great Hunger moves as if a force of unholy nature, and when its carnage and consumption reaches a fever pitch, it attracts the looping cannibals known as the Great Maws.

Bit of play with glue textures and skin tones expanding on previous works. More of a tester than anything else, but figured it’d be a good laugh to turn our #trenchcrusade great maw into a standard reddit dweller. Model is based on the great clean one sized down to appropriate scale.

The first Gregori Gula needed a friend, so here’s another for the Great Hunger warband.

Experimented with some PVA skin tech from the mighty @pictornox though it was a pain to get a great image of it. We’ll stay practicing.

Mostly @grimdark_compendium enamels and assorted pigments as normal.

Coming back from Australia tomorrow and been having a very rough time mentally to be honest, it’s been crippling. I’m excited to get back into the hobby and finish up my Chaos Knight Acheron. Here are some progress pics in the mean time.

Life is short - add some whimsy

Had an empty hobby table for the evening and visited this little metal cast I picked up at Arcfest. Hope his stupid face brings someone the same joy it did me.

After close to a year of getting back into the miniatures world, I’m looking back at the shelves and feeling good about the progress leasing to this point.

This will likely complete my @trench_crusade Great Hunger warband for now.

Massive thanks to the bro @tkh_art for the assistance along the way, hugely appreciated man.

@grimdark_compendium Villainy Inks doing all the heavy lifting in the grime as always.

No rest for the wicked, next project underway ++

Desiccated Husk for the Great Hunger, one step closer to finishing up the warband.
The sculpt has a lot of character as is, was a really fun one to paint and try out some new things.

Ladies and gentlemen, this week’s Conclave Champion is @really.offal - a painter clearly living on the dark side of painting.

The skin work is on the top shelf level. The flesh has a sick, rotten quality to it, with inflamed reds, pale tones, yellow stains and rough texture.
You can also see a lot of interesting techniques and experiments in the way the skin is built, making it look irritated, decaying and painfully believable.

We also like the practical details here; torn cloth, hazard stripes, corroded metal, hanging trophies and rough surfaces give the models more personality and make them much more interesting to look at.

Brutal, dirty and very grounded work. Go check out @really.offal and drop a follow if you enjoy the darker side of miniature painting!

Finally finished up with the Matagot Hag for The Great Hunger.
Minor kitbash with the feeding apparatus, was a crazy model to paint from @creaturecaster .
Huge thankyou to @conclave_obscura for the feedback along the way.

Using all of the usual suspects …@grimdark_compendium for the awesome enamels and @goblinshut for the rust effects.
