Many of you might be wondering what this is, while others are probably reminiscing about the old days in the towns of Jalgaon and craving it deeply right now.

The purpose behind this video is to highlight how this culinary heritage is disappearing in the name of modernization, weighed down by the misconception that traditional food is backward.

Varan poli and vangyachi bhaji are deep-rooted staples of the people of Jalgaon district; whatever the occasion, this has always been our core comfort food. Yet, as people move away to bigger cities, many begin to dismiss it as retrogressive—whereas I view it as a cultural gem. "Are we really that far ahead?" is a question I ask myself frequently, because unlike them, I miss this food immensely whenever I am away from home. It is disheartening to watch people turn their backs on it, for if we do not preserve our culture, who will?

This prejudice does not stop at our food—it extends
directly to the way we speak. Who gets to decide who is backward and who is progressive? I often hear people condescendingly say, "Tumchi Jalgaon-chi Marathi kiti ghaan vaatte, aamchi Punyachi bagha." Who decided that our dialect is inferior, and what if I believe ours is just as rich? It is all a matter of perspective: shift your mindset, and everything changes.

I hope this video and caption inspire you to see our roots with pride.

This reel was made out of my page's scope of content
But what even is the use of my social influence if I cant showcase my culture here !
