Been really feeling a deep empathy and love for nature in a way far greater than the superficial. A beautiful soul I know can connect with the nature around them and sense its energy. I find this beautiful and valuable…. As I cleaned up this tree that needed to go, due to safety of the structures by it, I thanked it for all it’s done 🙏 as I clean up trees and brush throughout the property, it’s important I recognize that I’m here as a steward to the land. To help it, to keep it clean from damaging species, etc. it’s not my land, I just live on it. So, while I need to clean it up or make space for a house or whatever, I recognize it and give thanks for its existence and purpose 🤍 by @realnickcarson

This was quite a special day for me. It may just look like a tattoo to you, but it’s so much more to me than that.

I grew up believing that something like this was for people who have gone off the deep end and don’t find any value in themselves or their bodies. As an adult, I felt this was beneath me.

About 3 years ago now, I was forced by the universe to get my shit together. It was a process that I’m still in, but more so on a gentle upward glide of growth, rather than the harsh bumpy cliff I was falling off before.

As things began to shift and my eyes were truly opened to the beauty in every single person, I was also starting to find myself more. Trying to lean towards natural abilities or interests of mine and not be afraid to go for it.

I started seeing a different type of tattoo show up in circles on social media that REALLY caught my eye. They were clean, beautiful works of art that I resonated with. Very symmetrical, and not just some obscure random word or object. I also noticed that these works of art were not done with loud modern machines. They were done in a much more sacred, skilled way that took much longer. Hand poke, stick and poke, and a few other names are used for this tedious task. I started to think that these people, the people I resonated with the most, along with this technique, would be the only way I’d ever get one. And after some time, I ended up creating my own design for myself!

The design is my love for the moon, the mountains, and symmetry. The way it was done was exactly how I wanted it to be, and after much searching, I found a new friend who just so happened to do this technique. What a perfect combo!

So, I mark this day as a commemoration to the hard work I’ve put into myself, the beautiful soul that I am, and letting go of blind beliefs that don’t serve me in the slightest.
