My May in fast forward 🏃💨

What an eventful month, so what exactly happened?

I stepped out of my comfort zone, had some incredibly interesting conversations, cracked a few dad jokes (and laughed at them myself) and made sure to stay true to who I am.

This month was also full of firsts and things I had not done in a while: my first public bingo, my second time at OMR Festival, a spontaneous dance battle with a stranger, going all alone to events, taking lots of pictures and plenty of moments that reminded me how much I love trying new things.

Also when things got overwhelming, I chose to take a step back instead of falling into people pleasing mode. Good for me I guess ✍️ taken in Hamburg, Germany by @realphii

“I think life is fun.“ 😩

I find RM's whole mindset so moving. It’s a gentle reminder to look for joy in our everyday chaos actively.

We all need to romanticize our lives way more. Go touch some grass, take a walk, and be in the moment 🫂

I love my circle of people, even if I only see some of you once every six months 🫩 We gotta work on that one ☝️

Does anyone else get totally lost in nostalgia the second you open your old Polaroids or your camera roll? 🎞️

It happens to me like once or twice a year: I intend to look at just one photo, but then time disappears and suddenly I’ve scrolled through 300 pictures and videos.

This little digicam actually belonged to my mom, but since no one else in the family used it, I claimed it as my own. Best decision ever. I’ve captured 1,075 moments in the last 3 years, which is basically one memory per day if you do the math. 📸

So give me 2 more years and I’ll double it!

April was basically the aggressive transition from burying my head in calculations to burying my social battery in the ground. Once exams were over, I naturally went ALL IN on freedom, and now I’m paying the price in recharge time (still looking for that middle ground: I’ll find it soon 🤥

In between the madness, I met some truly incredible souls and remembered how much I love connecting with people and showing genuine interest in their stories. I love and appreciate it even more when I spend time with my loved ones. I also played Werewolf for the first time in three years... and got stuck being the wolf three times in a row. Safe to say I’m deeply traumatized, so don’t even ask 🐺

I’m currently pushing myself to be more open to new environments again, even if I still catch myself spending a little too much time living inside my own head and getting caught up in a whirlwind of thoughts. We’re working on it, but I’m going into May feeling super confident; there are so many events coming up and I’m ready for all of them 😎! #aprilrecap #hamburg #040 taken in Hamburg, Germany by @realphii

In Hamburg, we have this spot called Röllchen in the Schanze. It’s funny, while everyone else is heading out to drink on a Friday night, we’re just there to get our ice cream.

My friends really had the nerve to order sprinkles AND pretzels. 🥨 I’m definitely not a fan of their „OG signature“ order combination, especially since I’m the person who calls it „sand ice cream.“ Maybe I’m the hater here😗

But I love the thought of connecting this ice cream place with my friends. Even if it’s that specific order of ice cream I’ll never like, it’s about sharing it all together. 🕯️🎞️ by @realphii

This season feels unusually more packed than the last few years, and it honestly doesn’t seem to stop. I can’t tell if my time management is just catastrophic at this point or if I’ve simply gotten used to the chaos.
