Joker (hanging over the city, laughing through the fear): All these years, Bats… and this is how it ends. Just you, me, and the fall. Tell me, when the legend dies tonight… who will you be without me?

Batman (cold, steady): The legend doesn’t die tonight. Men fall. Symbols don’t.

Joker: Ohhh, I knew you’d say something poetic. But deep down you know the truth, we made each other. If you’re the last Batman… then I’m the last punchline.

Batman: You were never the punchline. You were the warning.

Joker (smiling wider): Then let’s give the city one last joke… one last tragedy. The final chapter.

Batman: This isn’t the final chapter. It’s the handoff.

Joker: Handoff?

Batman: Someone will wear the cowl after me. Someone stronger. Someone who learned from my mistakes… and from you.

Joker (eyes lighting up): A new Batman? Oh, that’s delicious. I can’t wait to break him.

Batman (tightening his grip): You won’t. Because as long as there’s a Batman… there will always be someone to stop you.

Joker (soft laugh as the city glows behind them): Then I suppose the joke… never really ends.

Batman: No. It doesn’t. That’s the point.

Story context this is taking place on #Earth1486 On this Earth, Thomas Wayne is Batman, and his time is running out. The underworld has begun to whisper that the Dark Knight is nearing his final chapter. Villains circle like vultures, waiting for the moment the symbol falls. The Joker is the first to discover the truth… and the last enemy Thomas Wayne will ever face. What Joker doesn’t know is that Batman has been preparing for this moment all along, training a successor, shaping a new Dark Knight who will carry the mission forward and surpass everything he’s learned.
Because Batman isn’t a man.
It’s a legacy.
And the legacy never ends.
