Things on my mind re: art & responsibility. I was hesitant to post this because I don’t really want to focus on the individual instance, or to come off as fishing for praise. It was really @nifmuhammad’s (by way of Saul Williams) question the other day of “what will it take for you to shift your priorities?”, and the quote that opened up Jack Whitten’s show at MoMA that really moved me to share this.

Surprise! Scratched off a big big bucket list item earlier this year when @sarahmaeschmidt asked if I wanted to make something for the new episode of Off The Air they were putting together for @adultswim. It was an instant yes, and I had so much fun making it with the homies. Shit still feels unreal.

We got @hakimsartnstuff playing an exorcist who deals exclusively in public spaces, and @vivvyen & @domdeshawn playing lingering spirits. Cinematography by @jefferygrantjr and @lilbitty_usagi on production assistance.

For folks with cable it premieres 4 AM EST Dec 16th and runs till the 20th. Online link soon to follow :)

New game "APOLLO IN THE CROSSHAIRS" is up on my itch page (link in bio). Its low key like a hate poem for the surveillance state. You can play it on your computer, in your browser. You'll need a keyboard and mouse, trackpad is probably ok too tho. It takes about 10 minutes to finish.

Started making this as a way to try and blow off some steam in between larger projects. I wanted to make a first person shooter and then this just kinda happened.

I didnt feel like making a trailer so here are some vibe clips I guess. I really like this game and I hope you do too.

Screening at MoMA next weekend with the homies as part of this tremendous collab between @millennium_film and @filmcoop . Since moving to NY, Millennium has become what I feel really privileged to call a real creative home in the way that I wasn't sure I would be able to find out here. What a gift it is to have a place you can go to in this always ever changing city where you know you'll see at least some of your beloveds, and step out with a battery in your back ready to make some new shit.

The film I'm showing in the program, "How To Disappear Completely" was selected as part of the first @filmdiarynyc wayyy back, and fittingly was my introduction to Millennium; a site to gather, scheme, hold & push one another. Its an honor to be a part of this lineage that yes, includes so many filmmakers and artists that I've looked up to for so long, but even more so, artists I'm blessed to call my friends & comrades. These are the spaces and relationships that remind me why I love doing what we do.

The series starts September 23rd, and runs through October. Me and @sage720p are up next Saturday the 23rd at 2, and you can come back on Sunday to see @stmarkspl, @liz__roberts__ & Jard's films too!! Link in my bio for Tix.

Columbus!! This Thursday!! Back home w my beloved @filmdiarynyc family, at one of my fav cinemas in the world, with two of my favorite artists in the world @liz__roberts__ & @artical.co !!! Big gratitude to @cineseries_osu & @tristanlturner for bringing us together, and @stmarkspl & @sage720p for building this fire called film diary, and allowing us to gather around it.

Hello here is a clip from a game I’m making that is a hate poem about the cia agent in my computer/phone and maybe like palantir and also probably how everyone is the police now.

Started working on this this week bc I was anxious about summer ending and started to feel like I was behind on all the work I needed to get done before the fall. Thank you video games by @realtayediggs

Friday!!! I’ve been working with my beloved @sfpc.study this summer as a programming assistant, working hard on our Future Schools residency at @natlacademy.

Weekly open computer labs, workshops where folks learned how to turn websites into poems and turn their desktops into stages, and talks that rewired my brain. This Friday is a send off to our time at the residency, and a showcase of all of the work that our students have accomplished this season. It’s been an honor to help steward this space- please come through and celebrate this work we’ve built together!!

Hey what’s up hello!! Coming out of karaoke host retirement to host a fundraiser for our beloved @asmall.place come through and help us make this work a reality!!

I’ve been thinking a lot about how any real hopes in sustainability in this art shit is going to come from the spaces and structures we build for each other. How much longer will we run ourselves ragged (and run our credit cards up) for a system that could give two fucks about us? When the galleries close (or give themselves up to private equity) the only things left are what we build for (and with) each other. I’m grateful to @kearramaya for leading the way, and trusting me with this evening. 🖤
