I got my ticket to @workbenchconference.
Im super stoked. There is no other conference like WorkbenchCon and I've been to many. You are treated as a peer and as a friend.

@mancrafting and @worksbysolo were amazing hosts and tour guides. Looking forward to hanging with everyone again.

Took @mrsudoit on a date night for her birthday to Las Aves Restaurant in Swedesboro and it instantly became one of my favorite spots.
.
📍 525 Beckett Road, Swedesboro, New Jersey 08085
.
Las Aves has friendly staff, excellent service, and a chef who crushes it! It is a BYOB so we brought a bottle of sangria.
.
We started off with tortilla chips with con queso and salsa and ended with steak fajitas for me and shrimp fajitas for Sherri. Some restaurants give you a itty bitty amount of lettuce, shredded cheese, and sour cream. NOT LAS AVES! They give you the right amount. And oyr meal was so large we brought home a second meal.

Custom built truck bed extender for my cousin's work truck is being used in a different capacity.
.
Originally intended for material to pass through rear cab window but this load was way too wide. So it served as a way to hold it up at an angle from inside the truck bed over the tailgatr.
.
Made of 2 inch square tubing and joined with 2.5 inch tubing. Coated with flood and painted with flourescent orange paint.
.
Going to build a bed wide piece that can be both mounted high and low level with the bed.

Angle Grinder mount is complete and attached to my welding cart. Designed in Fusion 360 based on some measurements I made, cutout on plasma CNC, cleaned, bent, welded, grinded, sealed, and hung. I love fabrication.

IMPORTANT - looking at the sun directly can harm your vision. I used my phone to capture this under these smokey consitions this evening in Southern New Jersey.. The conditions in your area may vary. Consult with someone knowledgeable in this field.
.
"The BIG YELLOW ONE is the SUN" IYKYK except this evening it was an amazing reddish orange.
.
I decided to do this because seeing the red sun reminded me of Kevin's sun photography using filters to capture sunspots. And it might have worked.
.
If I understood @capemayastro correctly, u can capture sun spots with with a phone in combination with this atmospheric smokey filter thanks to the fires in Canadia..

Fabricating gone wrong! This was a fun mistake to make. I took on this project to get more fabrication time, to think through problems, and have new experiences.
.
There's a lot of familiar moments in this project where I was able to draw from my past experiences. Taking real life measurements, planning in Fusion 360, using my metal cutting saw, fit up, welding, grisding, drilling, and more.
.
I've MIG welded 1/4 tubing before when I fabricated my truck bed extender two years ago. I know that this worked. But this time I was getting cold welds. The tack welds weren't tacking. I searched for different settings that could help. One was swap the contact tip. Mine was worn so made sense. Another was to ensure that I had a good ground I sanded off some oxidatoon on the copper contacts on my grounding clamp. All of that was helpful but disn't solve the problem.
.
After messing with my welding cart I hit the regulator knob. Usually thats a set and forget but I forgetted about the knob. So I adjusted it to 20 and we were back in business. I put my settings back to the Lincol Electric 210 MP's defaults for 1/4 inch anf BOOM!
.
IKEA furniture was always one of those where I get yo step 35 only to realize that I put a part upside down 23 steps prior. I did the same with this upper tube that should have been on the opposite side. I was able to cut the uprights off, grind off and clean up the metal. Thn weld them all together again correctly. So maybe next time I will take a step back and look at my fit up prior to welding.

I was so stoked to get this done. Now I gotta cut off the ends and have another go. Apparently I'm not the only pne who doesnt track plans. This will be a fun fix tho.
