With the amount of work coming in lately (thank you 🙏), we’re adjusting our lead times to keep quality exactly where it needs to be.

Custom Cerakote isn’t fast when it’s done right. Most shops are currently running 4–6 month lead times, and in some cases it can stretch to 8 months or more depending on the season and the complexity of the project.

Here’s what affects turnaround time:

• Holidays and major industry events (like SHOT Show)
• Shop workload and scheduling
• The level of customization
• Complex patterns and multi-color designs
• The package or services selected

As a general rule — the more custom the build, the more time it requires. Simple, single-color or non-patterned projects typically fall on the shorter end of the timeline.

We don’t rush work. We build it right.

Ok … I often get asked why it takes so long to get something @cerakote . Bottom line is the prep work. Without a solid base the finish won’t last and I don’t believe in doing quick work just to grab some #cash . I want my #customers to have a project that’s been coated that will stand up to hard use. A lot of my customers use their guns A LOT and want them to be protected. That being said, the video is an example of a receiver that’s been degreased and put in the oven to gas out the oils from the #metal . Metal is very porous and can trap oils and solvents. If you don’t get all these contaminants out before applying a coating, when the #project heats up, it will push the coating off. This particular piece is on its 3rd gas out cycle to ensure it’s absolutely clean before applying the #cerakote . I hope this gives you a little insight to the process and why the lead times are long. The only reason I want customers to come back is for repeat business not because you are unhappy with the work. We’ve had some pretty unique requests from our clients at First Shot Firearms lately, and we’ve been bringing them to life

From a PB&J-themed Glock to custom camo, porting, and FDE Cerakote finishes, we’ve been working on some awesome builds.

We even went all out on a Glock 45 featuring a ported RAMJET setup and custom FDE Cerakote.

Add in a trigger job on the infamous P320 and some fresh FDE finishes on a few SIGs….
