Rebalovesyou, and it’s because I finally learned to love myself. Put myself first before I can show up for anyone else. Took a whole life time and hasn’t stopped here. Now, don’t get it twisted. This means that I finally learned to be comfortable in my own skin. And flow with the obstacles that life throws us. Sometimes so hard, you wanna give it all up. You know you’ve been there. At least once in your life. Someone told me once: “the universe won’t give you anything you can’t handle.” Took a minute to swallow this one, but it helped.

I bring this up because the submissions accepted (@__felecia.nicole brought this to my attention, not sure why it really hit until she pointed it out) where the inspiration came from my experience I had taking care of my mother, moving through her death, which lead to the work. The story, the grief, the growth, the rebirth, and the shed. All work symbolic of these things. In some shape or form.

Hello, I don’t think I’ve ever properly introduced myself. Many of you know me, some of you in passing and others only through social media. I felt like this was fitting to do an intro, because I FINALLY put together my website😌

My name is Rebecca Wallace, also known as Reba. I grew up in Southern California and rep Long Beach super hard. I’m half Mexican and American. Having been in Santa Cruz for oh , I don’t know exactly, 15 plus years? But having lived here, I’ve gone through insane transitions coming into myself, using art as an outlet for my self discovery, expression, and life support. Art literally saved my life. Having lost my mother in 2018, I realized in my 8 months sobriety from alcohol, how much art saved me. Probably from myself.

My studio is my safe place, the place I get lost into the wee hours like a maniac, but def not mad about it. All the while being a Real Estate Agent during the day. All the work I do has symbolism. Whether it’s the anatomical heart 🫀 that I can’t help but want to keep replicating, or the Cuttlefishbone Castings that I make obsessing over triangles, or the nipple rings honoring cancer survivors. As much as I’m perceived as tough as nails, I’m the biggest softie. Love bug to the max at heart.

That being said, Rebalovesyou is truly how I feel. As cheesy as it sounds, love is the answer; For all of this worldly strife, hardships amongst relationships ( romantic or not) and oneself. I do my best to show up for the ones I love, the ones in passing and myself. Be kind. At least try. We all are in this together.

Through the precise joining of contrasting metals, this wearable sculpture transforms a cherished vintage doily into a bronze cuff, from which silver-cast succulents emerge. Bronze, one of the most resilient metals, is paired with a plant celebrated for its ability to thrive in the harshest conditions, reflecting the courage of living after loss. It reminds us that healing does not erase what has been lost, but allows new life to grow from it.

The cobra, sculpted in wax then cast in silver, stands watch over a lab-created padparadscha sapphire. Drawn from the harmony between beauty and danger, it is presented not as a threat, but as a guardian of what is most precious. Created during the artist’s earliest exploration of lost wax casting, this piece marks the beginning of a sculptural practice and personal language that continues to evolve.

Rebecca Wallace’s sculptural interpretation of a hummingbird skull was carved from memory, then cast in silver. Often regarded as messengers between worlds, hummingbirds became a symbol of her late mother, whose balcony they faithfully visited, though no feeder was present. Delicate in scale yet protective in form, this piece is a reminder that those we love continue to look after us. Every hummingbird now feels like a quiet hello.

I decided to pack an overnight bag and head to Lake Garda. I stumbled upon @containsonlyclothes shop and loved their style.😮‍💨 Valeria (owner and designer) and I connected. She loved my look. Taken aback, she wanted to do a collab post, so here we are. Valeria holds it down with style points and a high vibe. Sweet to the core.

Your girl, has been accepted into Milan Jewelry Week. I applied, submitted my life’s work, they juried my submissions, then asked me to be part of the exhibition. They choose 4 pieces. Some of which I never intended to sell. Those special ones that mean a little more. But I had too. Wanted too. For this moment in time.🫀🇮🇹❤️

This process has been incredibly eye opening, and a lot of hoops to jump through. After a lot of research, late phone calls to the other side of the world, and curation, it was clear it that made more sense to hand deliver the jewelry vs. ship.🫱🏾‍🫲🏿✈️🪽

This post is beyond delay. But sometimes the best take the longest. Many of my friends are announcing their love to one another in what would be not considered the “traditional” way to tie the knot…

@shanielovesayes and @mawpaw263 expressed this union is the most beautiful way two can do, by bringing together sing, dance, and celebration with a wedding campout.

I was chosen to create a power piece that @shanielovesayes wanted to wear on her wedding day. A casted gold vagina, with a salt water pearl for that special place. She also commissioned me to make her wife’s engagement ring as well.

The gratitude and honor to be asked to make these creations are beyond words. Especially for such a huge milestone in one’s life.

I was honored to be asked by @sunandsaltcollective to make a small series for their surf retreat that’s currently happening this week at @flipflopfarmsca. I had to change plans and not attend their surf retreat. This was really hard for me to have to turn away! I will disclose the reason why I couldn’t make it… a few posts coming out real soon.🫣🇮🇹

In 2024 (I can’t believe it’s already been close to 2 years) we traveled across the globe to surf Imsoune, Morocco. 🇲🇦 There are so many life changing memories from that experience.
