🛣️ ¡ ʎɐp ǝsɐǝןǝɹ ʇǝǝʍs ¡ 🛣️

Follow our steps in 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 by 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧&𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚́𝐥𝐞𝐳 // @rebeccaminten & @luz_gonza1ez // The duo shape their acoustic environment, celebrating their mutual power to act. The enigmatic, even introspective, meandering reflected in the track titles reposition them not as observers of the ongoing desolation but rather as active figures in a cartography of listening.

⚐ Many thanks to @_sanka_s_creation_ and @marouley for putting images to these multidimensional architectures !
⚑ Shout out to @arem_thereal for taking care of the mastering process and @nicole.pfister for her photos of the duo !

Duo Minten & González presents their new album, Ruins of a non-existent place, at Mixtur.

How does a place change when it exists only in memory? Rebecca Minten and Luz González explore this idea through bass clarinet and live electronics. A sonic journey through spaces that feel familiar yet reveal new facets each time we return to them.

Their performance is part of a triple bill with Pedro Pablo Cámara and Carolina Santiago, taking audiences through Fabra i Coats. Along the way, music meets image, gesture, technology and the architecture of the former factory.

Minten @rebeccaminten & González @luz_gonza1ez

Doors: 19:30 · Start: 20:30

This duo starts from the desire to create a common language beyond any aesthetic line or tradition, as well as from the conviction that musical understanding goes beyond these categories. In this project Luz González (live electronics) and Rebecca Minten (bass clarinet) provoke and support each other in equal parts by the use of multiphonics, live processing, sinus tones and pure noise.
Together they created the work Zones limitrophes which evolved in an eclectic duo touring since then.

Minten&Gonzalez were guests at. Primi Copenhagen, Sonorities Festival Belfast 2024, Vekks Vienna, echoraum (AT), Neue Musik St. Ruprecht (AT), noiseberg Berlin, la Voirie Biel etc.
In 2025 they recorded their debut album at Morphine Raum Berlin, to be released in 2026 with PreferMusic, wabi-sabi tapes and Aut Records.

🧭 a few words about 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧&𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚́𝐥𝐞𝐳

To linger in the memory of a precious place, as if seeking rest in a glass-like transition. The axis pivots, inverts, and yet the perspectives remain unchanged. It is this multifaceted territory, that one can glimpse furtively by squinting, which the duo @rebeccaminten & @luz_gonza1ez has chosen to explore for their new album, 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞.

🤝 a coproduction @prefer_music , @aut_records & @wabisabitapes out Friday 18th September.

~ SESSION D’IMPROVISATION COLLECTIVE ~

Aracoeli : violon, voix
Avizohar : synthétiseur modulaire
Bart Bell : metalophone
Mélodie Blaison : flûte traversière
Mondkopf : guitare électrique
Rebecca Minten : clarinette basse

RENAISSANCE COMPOST
recording residency, GMEA, Albi, France, June 2026

During an unheard-of heatwave that broke multiple records in France, we gathered in a cool(ish) church to decompose music from the 16th century for a residency at @gmea_albi. This was bookended by an extreme, 11 hour drive across France to bring the one and only #clavemusicumomnitonum over from @studio31_basel.

Thanks to a dream team made up of @anouckgenthon , @stephane_c_l_o_r , @__anna.kaisa__ , @mara___winter , @rebeccaminten , and accompanied by the wonderful Benjamin and Ylan for the tech side, we spent an incredibly fulfilling, refreshing and tender week recording my new decomposition based on the madrigal Musica Prisca Caput by Nicolà Vicentino from 1555. Appropriately, multi-chromatic hues of light shone down onto us every afternoon from the stained-glass windows.

Originally written in 1555 in his treatise Ancient Music Adapted to Modern Practice, Nicolà Vicentino composed Musica Prisca Caput as a pedagogical example of a four-voice madrigal that showcases his unique approach to polyphony, incorporating the Ancient Greek genera: diatonic, chromatic, and enharmonic. Here, we applied eco-feminist notions of entanglement, “trouble”, and the need to get our hands dirty in the risky compost of history, thereby taking on Vicentino’s own approach of « adapting ancient music to modern practice ».

Queering ways to play and hear music from the Renaissance may be one coping mechanism amongst others as we experience the fallout of the ecological devastation set in motion during that period.
🥀

Big thanks to:
@gmea_albi for welcoming this project 🥰🥰🥰
Gérôme and @__.wayd.__ for the visuals 😍
@stephane_c_l_o_r for the organizational help and genius amplification 🧚‍♂️✨
@studio31_basel for making it possible to use the clavemusicum 🤯
