Meet Aurora 🖤✨

Resident good girl. Straight-A student.
Also the emo kid with her headphones on,
using music as a stand-in for therapy 🎧

But under the surface?
A need to rebel.
To push back against a world obsessed with appearances.
To understand herself well enough to finally be seen beneath the perfectionist façade she built to protect herself 🙅‍♀️

She wants to be brave.
Brave enough to show the messy, weird, unfinished parts 🌒

And then she meets Gale ⚡
A random Thursday.
A painfully boring summer job.
One moment that cracks everything open…
and changes her life forever. by @rebeccaromewrites

🏀🎸 Meet Gale — the boy who crashes into Aurora’s life and makes the rest of the room disappear.

Sixteen and quietly magnetic, he isn’t the bad boy everyone expects. He’s observant. Gentle. And carrying more behind those hazel eyes than he ever says out loud… until her.

For Aurora, Gale is a spark in a small town that suddenly feels too quiet, too predictable—and maybe too safe.

Happy #nationalauthorsday to some authors out there that you need to put on your radar, if you don’t know their names already! This is my first National Author’s Day as a published author! 🥳
Happy reading! 📖

🚫No posts. No stories. No content.

This week, I’m going dark to protest Meta’s use of our content to train AI without meaningful consent.

Our words are not training data.
Our stories are not free resources.
Our art is not raw material for machines to replicate.

Behind every book is a human being. Someone who spent months, sometimes years, creating characters, building worlds, pouring their experiences into words, and putting a piece of themselves on the page.

And behind every Bookstagram account is a community of readers, reviewers, creators, and authors who make this space what it is.

Creativity deserves protection. Artists deserve consent. And the people who create the things we love deserve to have a say in how their work is used.

Because without creators, there is no content.

IT SHOULD’VE BEEN YOU 📖
(Debut novel on sub!)

Twelve years after her first love broke her heart, Aurora is forced to face Gale again, just as her marriage strains under the weight of time and parenthood. His reappearance—and the mythologized version of him she’s carried—only deepens her dissatisfaction, forcing her to confront whether she’s been longing for him or for the person she was before she lost him.

⭐️ REINTRODUCTION! ⭐️

For those new to my account, hi 👋🏼

My name is Rebecca and I’m a romance author living in NJ but I’m also a high school English teacher.

I love to read any books 📚 that are equal parts spice and swoon.

I’m a Sagittarius full of adventure and sass.

I curse like a sailor and love horror movie, heavy lifting and emo music.

I’m diagnosed with OCD and anxiety but still manage to (mostly) function with meds and therapy ✌🏻

I have a six year old son who is far cooler than I’ll ever be.

My debut novel IT SHOULD’VE BEEN YOU is currently on sub and my second PUNK ROCK PRINCESS will be on sub in the coming weeks 🤞🏻

Lighting. Your cycle. A gram of sodium …🫠

It all matters, right ladies?

P.S. - you’re a beautiful motherf*cking queen. In case you forgot 😘
