MY FAVORITE BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS A KIDNEYYYYYY!!!!!🫘🫘 and on September 22nd he gets it installed!

A little over two years ago Adrian went into kidney failure. For the past two years he has spent over 12 hours a week at dialysis, working towards getting on the transplant list. A few weeks ago we got news that he had a match & this week they confirmed the surgery date! After almost 30 years of kidney issues, Adrian finally has his miracle kidney. It’s been a long journey and it’s far from over! Would you consider helping Adrian and Josephine out with part of it? Please join us in prayer and/or financially if you’re able! six years ago I said yes to serving in my favorite ministry of all time! the ups and downs of my life have been chaotic, but getting to play a part in serving the next generation has always been a constant. this ministry shaped me into who I am today. the people I got to meet along the way taught me how to love others better and how to be a better follower of Jesus.

today I get to cheer everyone else on because I said yes to what I felt like God said to do. I am so so so beyond excited for what He is doing in the next generation and I’m honored to have played a part in it.

but if I am honest,

it’s hard to be obedient when it involves letting go of something you’re passionate about.

it’s hard to walk away from a place that you felt called to.

it’s hard to walk away when you don’t know where you’re supposed to be walking to.

it’s hard for me to sit still and let God move in my life.

but I’m slowly learning that it’s not my job to know what’s next, it’s my job to say yes. yes to what God calls me to, yes to serving people wherever I go, yes to what the Holy Spirit is speaking. I am still a work in progress and I still want to have it all sorted, but I trust the person I am saying yes to. by @rebekahpainter_

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the term “romanticizing life”. I watch little videos of people romanticizing their life and I think to myself that once this busy season is over, I’ll start romanticizing my life. I am a little overwhelmed by life right now, but once I’m not as overwhelmed my creativity will come back and it will be easier to romanticize my life and make fun videos.

But the definition of “romanticize” is to make something seem better than it really is. And if that’s the goal, then I don’t want it.

What I do want is to not miss this little life God’s given me and not take it for granted. In the stressful seasons, and the relaxing seasons, He has made it all beautiful. Even in the chaos. Even in the stillness. He has laced every part of it with grace and purpose.

If I learn to see the beauty God has surrounded me with, then the need to romanticize it becomes obsolete. What could I possibly add to something the Creator of the universe has already called good? by @rebekahpainter_
