I used to get so stressed and anxious, worried I wasn’t following God’s will for my life. It’s a good desire to want to obey the Lord, but when we are led by anxiety rather than peace, more often then not it ends in discontent and sin.

I’ve learned (and I’m still learning!!🙋🏻‍♀️) to obey God where He’s called me, serve Him faithfully where my feet are planted, then trust Him with the rest.

We are called to the next good work before us—not complete foreknowledge of where we are supposed to be. If we knew everything, there would be no need for trust.

Let us then obey Christ where we are, and trust Him to provide. Persistent in action, and patient at heart. 🫶 by @rebekahsterner

My husband is not to fill the role of Christ in my life. He is not given to fill me, satisfy my greatest longings, or heal my every wound. My husband was given to me as an extension of God’s grace, a tool through which God sanctifies my heart, a visual reminder of God’s love for me, and simply a gracious gift from above.

Marriage is not for my own gain or glory, but God’s.

With this perspective, I truly believe life with my sweet sweet husband will only get sweeter.

Thank you Jesus for your good gifts. Soli Deo Gloria.

Dear single Christian girl,
Your convictions are not extreme. Your standards are not too high. And your desires are not outdated.

My husband was my first kiss, and that kiss was at the altar.
I remember the moment distinctly when I decided I wanted my first kiss to be at the altar. I was so encouraged by the way the Lord had redefined purity in my heart and grew in me a deep appreciation and reverence towards the union of marriage. But though I was encouraged deeply in the Lord, I was greatly discouraged by the people around me.

I often felt alone in my convictions and perhaps a little crazy. Glory belongs to God alone for holding me fast, and even greater, graciously gifting me a man who not only respected my boundaries but set further ones to honor me, because I now have a testimony to share!

Your desire for purity is not legalism. You don’t need to give yourself away to find a man. And you surely do not need to lower your standards out of fear that no man will abide by your convictions.
You live for God’s glory, and if you make decisions to honor the Lord, let me remind you that He sees you, and if it is in His will, He will supply for you a man of equal yoking who will come alongside your mission to glorify the Lord.

Hold fast dear friend. Seek to honor the Lord in every season and every moment. He sees you, and He deserves all your praise!!

Let my life be a living testimony to this truth. My George Sterner is my answered prayer and everything more!! God is good. 😭😭🤍
