🎬 INTERNATIONAL SHOOT TIPS — EPISODE 2 🇺🇸🗽

We’ve made it to New York — but getting yourself and the cameras here is only half the job.

A few things we’ve learned filming internationally:

🛃 Check in with Customs — get the paperwork sorted.
🇺🇸 Have the correct work permission for your production.
👀 Recce the venue before the shoot.
🎥 Work with local crew — local knowledge makes a massive difference.
💡 Hire bulky kit locally rather than flying everything across.
🍻 And have some fun! Get out on the first night, reset after travelling and start adjusting to the time zone.

Then it’s time to get to work. 🎬

🎬 Tips for International Shoots ✈️🇺🇸

We’re off to New York, so here are a few things we do before travelling internationally with a production kit.

🎥 Prep your kit early
📋 Get your ATA Carnet sorted
🛃 Make sure your Carnet is signed off at Customs
🔋 Batteries in hand luggage
🧳 Make sure your Peli flight case is the right cabin size
🎤 Prep interviews and questions.

A bit of planning before you fly means less stress when you arrive — and more time to concentrate on the shoot.

The kind of content day we live for 🎬 This 3bconstructionltd shoot happened on the hottest day of the year (factor 50 was doing overtime).

Team Roar got in close for the detail shots, our studio buddies @rebelloopstudios brought the drone and fly-through footage, and when you cut it all together? A match made in heaven🤌

We can't wait to get back on site for a follow-up shoot to catch this gorgeous build as it progresses 👀

Thank you so much for everyone who made this happen at @rebelloopstudios we had the best time

We can't believe we got the chance to work alongside award winning violinist @katrinaleeviolin it was magical to watch her perform, she's the most talented musician we've ever met.

Thanks to Tammy's sister @tayemilylisa on keys and of course @jackhendersonaudio on bass and @jredmo_ on guitar.

What goes into creating great content? It’s never just one person.

🎬 Anne shaping the story in the edit
🎨 Kieran bringing it to life with the colour grade
👀 Trev giving the final review before sign-off
📼 Joe getting retro with the DV camera (because everything old becomes cool again!)
💻 Ian doing the seriously techy programming stuff… basically saving the world.

Every project is a team effort, with a mix of creativity, technical know-how, and the occasional questionable coffee.

This is a little behind-the-scenes look at life at Rebel Loop Studios.

Nearly 10 years ago now, and it still feels just as relevant today.
We were lucky enough to film this inspiring community project in Govanhill, capturing people coming together to make a real difference. Looking back, it’s a reminder of the power of community, kindness, was a beautiful story we captured through film. Proud to have captured this moment. ❤️
