AI is reshaping our world, but who gets to be a part of it? At the Rebrand Institute of Tech Equity (RITE), we’re tackling the "infrastructure inequality" that leaves under-resourced communities behind.

Our mission? Building comprehensive AI education ecosystems for the entire community—not just individuals.

Here’s a glimpse of what we’re doing:

KidoTech: America’s first AI literacy curriculum for K-5th graders, making AI as foundational as reading and math.

Culture Code Camp (C3): A 4-week summer program for K-8 students that merges AI with their passions—like basketball, dance, and music.

AI Apprenticeships: Creating direct pathways into tech careers for adults.

We’ve already served 10,000+ individuals through 300 workshops—all with zero marketing spend. Now, we’re ready to replicate this model and ensure no community is left behind in the AI economy.

What a Saturday. RITE spent the day with our Douglas County neighbors at Sept Saturday, and we're grateful to the Douglas County Board of Commissioners for the invitation and for making space for tech education in our community.

The line our team used all day to describe our work was "AI education from Kindergarten through Career." It got the point across, but our seniors made sure we knew we'd left them out. They're right. Our work reaches every age, from our youngest learners to our older adults, because no one should be left behind as technology changes how we learn, work, and live.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the table, asked questions, and shared their stories. Douglas County, we're just getting started.

If your school's AI policy is four pages, nobody has read it.

Here is the whole rule:

If the text would let a stranger identify a student, it does not go in the tool.

Names. ID numbers. IEP and 504 language. Discipline notes. Rosters. Health information. And the comment that describes one child so specifically you did not need the name — that counts too.

What it still allows: the rubric, the family template, the unit rewrite, the differentiated version, the exit ticket. Which is where the hours are anyway.

Put it on the copy room wall.

That is the entire Ecosystem Partner commitment for World Tech Day — the Community Coalition track nobody talks about, because it does not involve a check.

No block to fill. No minimum headcount. No fee. You lend us your reach and three people on November 14, and your organization rides with the only event of its kind west of the perimeter.

The email home takes longer than the lesson it is about.

Stop writing the message. Build the template.

Describe the situation in general terms — no names, no grades, nothing from a student's file. Ask for a family message that leads with a strength, states one concern, makes one specific request, offers two ways to reply.

Then push back on it. Too formal. Shorter. Make it an invitation, not a warning.

You fill in the specifics yourself, in your own email. That is where student information stays.

Built once, reused all year.

Fifteen kids and a van. That is the whole entry requirement.

World Tech Day Community Coalition applications close Thursday, October 1.

Bring a group of 15 or more and it is $6 a child instead of $8. Adults come free. Your kids sit together in one block — same track, same seats.

Saturday, November 14. Legacy Arena, Douglasville. Grades 3 through 8. Two tracks, 400 seats each.

Twenty organizations get in. Not twenty-one.

We need two more Build Captains.

C3 Fall Break Camp runs October 12-16 in Douglasville, and we're looking
for two teachers to lead a group of about ten scholars through the week.

$750 stipend — training and camp week included.

Here's what the role actually is:

You teach an hour of math and an hour of reading each morning. You guide
your group through Create & Share, our content creation track, where
scholars learn camera work, editing, and storytelling and screen a
finished film on Friday.

Here's what it isn't:

You don't write curriculum. You don't build lesson plans. You don't need
video experience. All of it is provided, and training happens the week
before camp.

Grades K-8. Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 4:30. One week.

22 speakers. 900+ applicants.

I still can't fully sit with that.

What you don't see in this reel is the four months before it. The versions that didn't work. The lines I loved that had to go. The nights I rewrote the opening for the tenth time because something still wasn't landing.

By the time I walked onto that red circle Saturday, I wasn't giving my first version of this talk. I was giving something closer to my fifteenth.

That's what nobody tells you about TEDx — the stage is the easy part. The work is everything before it.

To my coach @tinamarie1913 , who told me the truth every single time I needed to hear it, even when I didn't want to. To my cohort, who held me up through every rehearsal, every rewrite, every moment of doubt. You made this what it became.

And to my family and friends — some of you got on planes. Some of you drove hours. You crossed state lines to sit in a room and watch me talk for twelve minutes. I looked out and saw your faces and I don't have language for what that did for me. That was the biggest day of my life, and you made sure I wasn't standing in it alone.

To my son — you're the reason I built any of this.

The instructions always matter.
