jaunt to the us fueled by matcha, good laughs, and a fierce belief that time is a circle

and what a joy to revisit so many past lives— playing mario party on the gamecube in my best friend’s basement, chowing at the one chinese restaurant in town my grandma ever approved of, sleeping over my aunt’s and chatting over the kitchen counter, aimlessly digging into the bowels of youtube on a college-town couch, and zooming around the bay with butters and faith

and what a joy to make so many new artistic friends through the 24 hour plays—a great reminds to eat the frog with the ease of a night-stalking tiger, and trust there will be someone there to hold the fever-dream that comes forth

so many gifts and so much inspiration and enough fuel to maintain my faith in the american theatre for at least one (1) calendar year (i hope) by @rebs.chan

As we celebrate our #Dramaturgy Department as part of our #auditions2025 we want to take a moment to thank our Head of Dramaturgy @maryyyyyliu 's predecessor, @independentchinesedancers's Founding Head Dramaturg @rebs.chan. Rebs led and defined BAICD's Dramaturgy teams from 2023-2025, supervising script development and Audience engagement plans for #MinBridges #閩橋, #感謝感喜 #FullofThanksFullofLaughter and #Delight Rediscovering Comedy in Tradition. They've mentored and led production and creative team members, including @meguname, Jordan, @sweetnlowe202, and @wingdynasty87, and worked with key external artistic collaborators like @berkeleyrep @helenchucomedy @evanhocomedy Ling Chen and Liki TiuN. This fall, Rebs will be joining #shanghaitheatreacademy as an MA Candidate in Intercultural Communication Studies while also serving as an ongoing advisor to our dramaturgy and creative teams! We couldn't be prouder!

At BAICD, we invest in our member's professional advancement within and outside the company and celebrate our members and leaders as they go on to shape compassionate, impactful storytelling around the world. Apply to join our creative teams today at #LinkInBio, including for the first time an opportunity to come in at Reb's level as a department heads of Visual Design and Public Relations or Web Developer. We also have great spots on our Dramaturgy team, and across our creative, technical, and dance teams!
