Oscar Lefebvre
Still Waters (After Seurat), 2026
Huile sur bois ; Oil on wood
22 x 16 cm

On view until October 15 at 77 Rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris.

__
Oscar Lefebvre is a painter and a 2021 graduate of the École des Beaux Arts de Nantes.

His paintings begin with personal images that are gradually distilled, transformed, and eventually detached from their original meaning. Faces, objects, and luminous details emerge as fragments of a world that feels both familiar and distant.

Moving between portraiture, landscape, and still life, his work explores moments of uncertainty, situations seemingly on the verge of shifting, disappearing, or falling apart.

Through layers of transparent brushstrokes, images are simultaneously revealed and concealed, creating paintings that remain open to interpretation. taken in Paris, France by @recife.gallery

Hanna Dubey develops a painting practice nourished by visual fragments drawn from the past and everyday life: documentary photographs from archives, memories, and intimate or collective narratives. From this flow emerge compositions in which figures and landscapes dissolve, caught in a tension between appearance and disappearance. Her work explores dualities - reality and illusion, tenderness and violence, care and abandonment, the tangible and the intangible.

| MEET SIMON DEMEUTER |

We are delighted to present the work of @simondemeuter , born in 1991 in Soignies, Belgium, and now living and working in Paris.

In his painting practice, Demeuter explores a bold simplification of form, giving his works a sense of pictorial freshness and immediacy. Colour lies at the heart of his visual language, becoming a tool through which he evokes emotions, sensations, impressions, moods, and physical or mental states.

Drawing from childhood memories, travels, and encounters, the artist creates images that move between inner landscapes and references to Folk Art, the Impressionists, cinema, and music. An everyday object, however ordinary or arbitrary, can become the starting point for an entirely new series.

Through compositions that are endlessly revisited and transformed, Demeuter plays with colour, gesture, scale, and imperfection, seeking to uncover the trace of an emotion in its simplest and most stripped-back form.

Come and discover his work at the opening of ˋcry me a river’ this Thursday, from 6 to 10 pm, at 77 rue Vieille du Temple, 75003 Paris.

| MEET JULIA WORONOWICZ |

Recife Gallery is thrilled to present Julia Woronowicz in the new group exhibition Cry Me a River.

Based in Warsaw, Woronowicz explores feminist narratives, Slavic mythology, folklore, and speculative histories through painting, sculpture, installation, and video. Her practice creates fictional worlds where forgotten voices, female figures, and nonhuman beings challenge established narratives of history, gender, and collective memory.

For Cry Me a River, Woronowicz presents works that continue this exploration, blending mythology and contemporary experience into an evocative reflection on memory, transformation, and resilience.

🥂Opening: October 8 | 6–10 PM🥂

| MEET PIA MOUGEOT | @piamougeot

Pia Mougeot (b. France) is a French ceramic artist whose work explores femininity, identity and the experience of “becoming a woman.” Drawing from childhood memories, fairy tales and the animal world, she creates playful, theatrical sculptures populated by expressive characters. Her rounded forms and humorous imagery reveal a universe that moves between wonder, contradiction and drama. After studying at the Villa Thiole in Nice, she graduated from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg, where she discovered ceramic sculpture under the guidance of Clémence van Lunen.

Come and discover Pia Mougeot’s work as part of Cry Me a River, on view from October 8 to 15 at 77 rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris 3rd.

We’d love to see you there.
