At Reclamation FARMacy, we are committed to cultivating a more equitable and just food system by empowering marginalized communities with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in agriculture. Our mission is to bridge the gap in food justice and create opportunities for sustainable, culturally diverse farming practices.
We believe that access to fresh, nutritious food is a fundamental human right, and we are dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers that disproportionately affect communities of color. Through education, advocacy, and hands-on training, we aim to:

Promote Food Sovereignty
Cultivate Agricultural Skills
Celebrate Cultural Diversity
Advocate for Equity
Foster Community Resilience
Promote Sustainable Practices

By achieving these objectives, Reclamation FARMacy aspires to create a future where all people, regardless of their background, have the knowledge, resources, and agency to play an active role in reshaping our food system. Together, we will sow the seeds of food justice, harvest the fruits of equity, and nourish our communities with the abundance of shared knowledge and opportunity. taken in Raleigh, North Carolina by @reclamationfarmacy

🌿 What plant knowledge lives in your family’s stories?

The names, uses, recipes, and growing practices our elders carried deserve to be remembered, and passed on. Some knowledge has been forgotten. Some was disrupted by displacement and separation from the land.

At Reclamation FARMacy, reclaiming our relationship with plants means making room to listen, learn, and share across generations.
What did an elder teach you about a plant? Share their wisdom below. 🤎

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor Indigenous peoples, their living cultures, and their enduring relationships with the land. 🤎

As Reclamation FARMacy stewards land in North Carolina belonging to these tribes, we offer special recognition to the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, celebrating the long-overdue full federal recognition they secured in December 2025, and the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina, whose pursuit of state recognition stretches back to the 1970s and continues through renewed advocacy.

Our work toward food sovereignty carries a responsibility to respect Indigenous knowledge, amplify Indigenous voices, and stand in solidarity with Indigenous self-determination.

Honor the land. Learn whose stories it holds. Support the people who continue to care for it.

To us, food sovereignty means having the land, seeds, knowledge, and power to feed ourselves on our own terms. It means honoring our food traditions and ensuring the people growing, preparing, and eating food have a voice in the decisions that shape our food system.

What does food sovereignty mean to you? 🌱 Tell us below.
