A well organized and stocked vintage vinyl room with choice collector titles on the walls and nods to punk rock, metal, 90’s Alternative, Psych, Reggae, Blues and more. The room has cassettes, CD’s and of course the reason I was there - RECORDS!!! Once digging I found a dirty β€˜Shwa classic in the Star Records release of the Purple Toads. On the wall there was a copy of R.E.M.’s debut Lp β€œMurmur” The vibes were definitely right in this space cozy to shop in and condusive to chatting. Hamilton’s independent record shop that is a true safe 3rd space. Recently downsizing into a more manageable store, now focused on what they do best - slinging wax! The new shop is slightly smaller making it one of the coziest crate-digging spots in the city. The store specializes in pleasing all tastes but is heavily focused on new indie and classic used β€œHoly Grails”! Brad and company tend to the store with care and pride with connections to local musicians @intotheabyssrecords aims to keep the community circular. The new shop is designed to showcase records with a giant wall for hot new releases and OG fire! They have new Vinyl, and new CD’s coming in with the ability to place a special order. Time to dig in….finding a reissue of β€œMagic Carpet” a rare British psych classic was astounding to me. With World Cup aktion going on, impressed with Cabo Verde I found a double Lp comp of the spacey sounds of Cabo Verde! Life doesn’t have that zest or spice anymore? Drop some acid and take a trip to @intotheabyssrecords for all your new & used vinyl needs! When stopping in to say hi to Brad and company, make sure to tell them the @recorddetective sent you!
