These artists were my first influence and inspiration into #Freestyledance, their widespread reach back in the late 80s and early 90s in media, as well as their individual creative expression thru dance.

For me, as a dancer its definitely been a full circle journey in that I have built with all 3 members and gotten to know them all individually over the years. I'm glad that I was able to give back to them in some capacity for their huge contribution to the culture I love. I want to also thank them for the energy, advice and knowledge they bestowed onto me within recent years of building 🙏🏾👊🏾✨️💯

This clip was within the same episode as my other post. First up was @legendaryalishabazz second was @soulbrothervluv and third was @cmackarim 💥💥💥

This is a westcoast based #hiphop show called Pump it Up circa 1988-90. This show was instrumental in showcasing hip hop videos from a westcoast point of view.

#Clubhouse was a LA based dance group but one of my inspirations was RAISIN AKA @ras_kass. Raisin was also from the legendary LA crew #SchemeTeam ✨️This clip only shows a lil bit of how ill he was on the floor.

Big ups to @sista_dee_barnes for capturing and documenting our culture and so beautifully showing different aspects of hip hop though a westcoast lens 👌🏾 😎

Thanks @lyrehcinla for sharing these gems 💎 ..you already know how much they resonate with me 🙏🏾.

Here's a lil slice of some westcoast freestyledance pioneers .. enjoy🙌🏾✨️✨️✨️

Big thanks to @openhousefamily for having myself #westcoastfinest @soulbrothervluv @nevergohollywood and letting us share a slice of our history and personal perspectives on #westcoast dance culture. I appreciate my bro's Vluv and Brother again for showing up and joining me in this mental exploration of our past experiences in LA. Also big thanks to @yameansupreme for keeping us on track and for sharing his positive energy with all in attendance👊🏾 ✨️My hope is that those who showed up, were able to learn something about westcoast #hiphop #dance history and get a feel for how the culture has evolved🙏🏾
