Mohammed Mohiedin Anis, also known as Abu Omar, is a Syrian businessman and car collector, based in Aleppo. A March 2017 photograph of him sitting on his bed, smoking a pipe and listening to his wind-up record player in a rubble-strewn room has been widely reproduced. He had to leave Aleppo for a time at the height of the Battle of Aleppo, and when he returned only 13 cars were left (including his 1947 Cadillac convertible, now badly damaged), seven having been impounded by the Syrian police, and 10 either missing or destroyed in the war.In March 2017, Anis estimated that altogether, one-third of the collection had been either destroyed or stolen. He says, "When one of my cars is hit, it's as if I or one of my relatives has been hit. It's as if they were my children, so I come down to check on them". #mohammedmohiedinanis Anis #abuomar #aleppo #syria #carcolection #vinylrecords #vinylcollecting #vinylclub #vinyladdiction #vinyladdict #vinyllove #vinylcollective #vinyljunkie #vinylcollectionpost #vinylcommunity #vinyl #vinyllover #vinyleveryday #vinylrecord #turntable #vintageturntable #turntableassassins #turntablemusic #turntablecity #turntanle4ever #turntablelife #musica #musically #passion #love taken in Aleppo, Syria by @records.ro

A heart-wrenching video shows a Ukrainian woman defiantly playing the piano amid the rubble of her home, which was damaged in a Russian strike.
In the footage, the woman, identified as Tetiana, walks through the rubble of her living room before sitting at her piano and playing the Ukrainian ballad Nich Yaka Misyachna (“What a Moonlit Night”)
The video shows the extent of the damage, with the roof destroyed and debris scattered throughout the room, while the piano remains largely intact.
Tetiana’s house was extensively damaged during a Russian attack on August 28 that triggered the detonation of an ammunition storage site in the village of Myla, in Kyiv Oblast’s Bucha district, west of Kyiv, The New Voice of Ukraine reported.
Footage of Tetiana playing the piano was shared by her daughter, Viktoria, and later reposted by Ukrainian journalist Iryna Shev on Instagram on August 30.
“Tetiana sat at the piano and played. In the middle of the destruction of her own home. She played, and the world stopped. She played, and for a few moments, the war felt lighter,” Shev said in an Instagram post.
Tetiana’s daughter, Viktoria, said her mother’s performance showed that “you can destroy walls. But you cannot destroy our spirit.”
“As long as a Ukrainian song resounds among the ruins, Ukraine lives,” she said in an Instagram post.
The Russian attack on August 28 sparked a major fire and a chain of explosions that damaged residential buildings and Dobryi Dim (“Good Home”), a care home for elderly people in the village of Myla.
The confirmed death toll rose to 38, while 52 people were injured, making it one of the deadliest Russian attacks on Ukraine this year. by @records.ro
