I fell in love with recording and mixing songs back in 2008! Just a few years ago I got into filming and editing! 🎙️🎚️🎥

Very grateful that I get to do the things that I love and that some say that I’m pretty good at too!😜😎

Check out this video I got to work on for @walterbeasley 🎷🔥

When someone sings or plays something offbeat, we must re-record it until we get it just right! 🎙️

When it’s something minor like this though, I can usually rely on my trusted bend tool! 😎🎶

Before looking for a plugin, try to balance the mix by clip gaining, moving faders, and panning 🎚️🎛️

How do you know when it’s time to finish a project and move on?

Being a perfectionist and our own biggest critics can make us spend too much time chasing that “perfect” sound.

Like, when I mix, I set a timer to finish the mix and move on. The next day, I listen with fresh ears and make any necessary adjustments. If I’m happy with it, I send it out because at the end of the day, the client is going to either request revisions or give the stamp of approval.

Enjoy the process and trust your work! 😎✌🏽

A little BTS look of the students setting up for their first official recording session 🙌🏽

I stayed mainly behind the 🎥 with minimal assistance to allow them to figure things out so they can know what it’s like to run a real session, hands on! 🎙️

SO to @thesuperstitiondept for pulling up for @map_yuma 🎶

This is my 3rd year teaching audio engineering & music production with @map_yuma

No books, no classroom, just hands on learning in a real professional recording studio!

Excited to see what the students will bring this semester 🎙️🎛️🎚️

Using a control surface like this has been one of my favorite studio upgrades 🎚️

It’s not needed, but it’s been a huge workflow improvement!

As I bring you guys along for some of these sessions, what’s something you’d like to see next?
