B A N N E D B O O K S W E E K

in honor of banned books week, here are my top 5 favorite banned books! i say the same thing every year, but that’s because it is important. censorship of literature is commonly used a means of control of political thought and theory by erasing history or contrarian voices, all in the name of protecting the people. the best way to fight back is to read banned books and educate yourself on all voices. and just a side note: if you disagree with an ideology, it’s all the more important that you read books aligned with said ideology. protecting your heart and mind is a priority, of course; but the importance of being educated about what the perceived enemy believes simply cannot be overstressed. by @red.shelves

first few glimpses of october 🎃🍂🪾

i finished this inevitable ruin and the fellowship of the ring. both brilliant in their own right, but the way the fellowship of the ring ended is really sticking with me.
i put a hold on the two towers & started a parade of horribles.
what are you guys reading? by @red.shelves
