Last summer, wildfires impacted several communities across Saskatchewan. Our Case Managers, like Carolyn, work directly with individuals and families to help them navigate their recovery journey.❤️⤴️We ensure that they are supported in planning and decision-making processes such as the return home or understanding insurance and community resources. We also provide referrals to access mental health services and other supports as needed. This support is made possible thanks to the generosity of donors, matching funds from the Government of Canada and funding from the Government of Saskatchewan. We’re continuing to work closely with federal, provincial and municipal governments to support individuals, families, and communities affected by the 2025 wildfires. by @redcrosscanada

If you’re seeing this, take a deep breath.Panic attacks can really hit hard. They come out of nowhere and leave people feeling totally overwhelmed. Understanding how to help someone going through one can make a world of difference.Keep these things in mind:✔️ Stay calm✔️ Move to a safe spot away from crowds, noise, or triggers✔️ Encourage them to sit or lie down✔️ Regulate breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4✔️ Reassure without judgment: Say things like, "You are safe," "This will pass," and "I am here"✔️ Don't tell them to "just get over it," leave them alone, or shake them✔️ Ask before touching themLearn more at redcross.ca#MentalHealth #PanicAttacks #Anxiety #FirstAid by @redcrosscanada

Children and youth are especially vulnerable to the impacts of conflict. In Lebanon, this is no exception. Ongoing violence has displaced hundreds of thousands of families, disrupting school systems and limiting access to essential health services.Children and youth across Lebanon continue to feel the profound psychological impacts of these circumstances. The Lebanese Red Cross, supported by the IFRC and other Red Cross Movement and government partners, have been working to strengthen the mental and physical well-being of children in schools and shelters for displaced families. From evacuation plans to psychosocial support activities, the goal remains the same: to provide a safe, reassuring, and hopeful environment for children and youth. The Canadian Red Cross has provided funds to support the Lebanese Red Cross as they respond to the ongoing conflict. If you would like to support this important work, consider donating to the Canadian Red Cross Lebanon Humanitarian Needs Appeal at redcross.caPhoto credit: Lebanese Red Cross / IFRC by @redcrosscanada
