It all started with a bit of Red Dust and of course the love of the great outdoors.⁠
⁠
We often get asked how our name came about and Red Dust holds such fond memories for my brother and me.⁠
⁠
Growing up in beautiful South Australia, our childhood was filled with memories of backyard sports, camping under the stars, and 4WDriving on red dirt outback roads.⁠
⁠
The Australian outback holds a special place in my heart, we were introduced to this amazing part of Australia at a young age and were always off on family holidays discovering remote 4WD tracks.⁠
⁠
The outback to me is camping, night skies filled with a myriad of stars, campfires, beautiful sand dunes, amazing fauna & flora, abandon homesteads, remote landscapes, Lake Eyre in flood, the wonders of remote inland desert water holes, birdlife, camel and dingo sightings, birds galore and just that feeling of space.⁠
⁠
I was lucky enough in my early twenties to work at the iconic Birdsville Hotel (population 100), known for the Birdsville Races and now also the Big Red Bash.⁠
⁠
The winter months were full of tourists crossing the Simpson Desert and exploring the outback, busy nights working in the pub, meeting wonderful characters, enjoying new challenges, nights in swags under stars, being free-spirited and spontaneous. All these attributes lead to this amazingly unique experience.⁠
⁠
There is this amazing feeling of taking in the remoteness and majestic spirit of the Australian outback, the feeling of being the only one for miles, perhaps isn't for everyone but for me is like coming home.⁠
⁠
The red sand in this glass container comes from "Big Red" a name given to a sand dune that is over 30 meters tall which marks the edge of the Simpson Desert. The perfect spot to enjoy a bottle of bubbles and watch the sunset.⁠

The old-aged question of what time is best to workout!⁠
⁠
Everyone has their own preferred time to move their body some like early mornings and others have no choice but to exercise at night or they simply love the opportunity to wind down after a full-on day at work.⁠
⁠
I have always preferred exercising in the evenings, however, lately, I have had to mix it up a bit and mornings are slowly becoming my friend (well honestly we still have a little way to go).⁠
⁠
But it does allow me to get some miles down before my little person arises and also lets me escape to a Pilates class in the evenings to help strengthen my body (so I can continue running) before flopping into bed.⁠
⁠
So if you are an early worm or a night owl you're going to need the right gear to keep you safe, warm, and looking good, to help motivate you to keep moving, when the days get shorter and cooler.⁠

#FBF Cycling around Yangshuo, China with your mates - priceless!⁠
⁠
I love this image it brings back so many happy memories. I group of friends reuniting in China all coming together from different places around the globe.⁠
⁠
We spent several spectacular days biking around the city and surrounds of Yangshuo exploring various caves, hills, and rivers. Enjoying food and a few wee drinks catching up on each other's lives.⁠
⁠
It was certainly the best of times and it was an end of an era - from here we all packed our bags and headed off in all different directions, not to cross paths again for many years.⁠
⁠
Between us now we have 7 kids and our catch-ups are now a wee bit different. But ironically after all living across the globe - London, China, Vancouver, Berlin - we have all returned to Australia and now call Adelaide home.⁠
