1️⃣ People Pleasing
I used to mistake people pleasing for politeness. It was ladylike to fake agree to avoid conflict, over-apologize, or give a soft yes when I wanted to give a firm no.

People pleasing led me to prioritize the opinions of others over my own, but scripture taught me otherwise.

In Galatians 1:10, Paul asks, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?” This verse reminded me that I can’t live for the approval of people and serve Christ at the same time. We’re called to serve others out of love and obedience to God, not for their approval.

2️⃣ Overthinking
Overthinking showed up most in social settings. For example, if I was attending a birthday party I’d spend way too much time deciding on a gift or what to wear. I’d get there, mingle, have a great time, then come home and replay the entire night in my head, cringing over things I said, overanalyzing interactions.

Maybe it was me, maybe it was them. Either way, the overthinking stole my peace and left me second-guessing myself. I spent so much time obsessing over things I couldn’t control and that didn’t matter.

In Philippians 3:13-14, Paul says, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal…” The goal is Christ. Not everything I say or do will be received the way I intended, but if my words and actions reflect Him, there’s no need to overthink every imperfect moment.

3️⃣ Control
I’ve always been a planner, believing that if I did things a certain way, I’d get the outcome I wanted.

While wisdom and planning matter, Proverbs 19:21 reminds us: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Before surrendering to Christ, I chased my own desires and relied on my own understanding. I’ve learned that God’s plans are far greater than my own, and there’s freedom in trusting Him with what I can’t control.

Some days being a mom feels like my whole world revolves around everyone else and I forget who I am… BUT GOD!

He reminds me that I’m not just a mom. I’m His daughter. I’m loved and valued no matter how many mistakes I make or how many times I fall short.

When I lean on Him, I find strength, patience, and peace I couldn’t muster on my own. And in that space, I can love my kids fully without losing myself in the process.

1️⃣ Clarity vs. Chaos
Conviction comes from a place of clarity and peace. Confusion comes from a place of uncertainty.

1 Corinthians 14:33 says, “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”

Conviction comes with a clear sense of belief or direction. We may receive it through a message at church or by reading the Bible. When we experience conviction, we often feel a sense of calm and assurance, even if it’s a hard pill to swallow. Confusion, on the other hand, creates uncertainty and an unstable understanding. It causes us to overthink and allows our thoughts to compete against one another.

2️⃣ Consider the Outcome
Conviction tends to lovingly lead us toward Jesus, whereas confusion makes the path seem strenuous or difficult.

Jesus says in Matthew 11:30, “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

The Holy Spirit reveals things to us to help strengthen our relationship with our Father. If what you’re feeling draws you closer to God, it is most likely conviction.
Confusion makes us think we have to jump through hoops to find peace, but that is a lie.

3️⃣ Consider the Source
What is the source of your thoughts and feelings?

Are they coming from a place of fear and anxiety, or are they coming from a place of prayer, Scripture, and God’s wisdom?

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Are you seeking guidance from God’s Word and listening for His voice, or are you looking to other sources that leave you feeling uncertain?

Remember: not everyone’s conviction is your conviction. Seek guidance through Scripture, prayer, and fasting, Not through society or social media.

1️⃣ Arguing the Gospel.
The Gospel is good news to be shared, not a debate to be won.

As I gained biblical truth, I wanted to share what I learned with others so they to would experience the change I found through Scripture. But whenever I faced pushback, I became argumentative because I believed in my heart that I was right. My intentions were sincere, but my response was not.

If we’re not careful we can spend more time trying to prove we’re right than exhibiting the love of Christ. 1Peter 3:15 says to give an answer with gentleness and to have an answer for our faith, not be the answer. Jesus is the answer. We’re called to plant the seed, pray, and let God do the rest.

2️⃣ Judging People More Than Praying for Them.
Discernment is biblical, but criticism without prayer is not.

I spent more time in God’s Word and became more aware of how lost people are and how destructive sin can be. It was easier to judge others in my heart than to faithfully lift them up in prayer.
Matthew 7:1-5 warns against hypocritical judgment and reminds us to check ourselves before pointing out faults in others.

Rather than harboring criticism, intercede for the idle and unbeliever. Ask the Holy Spirit to soften hardened hearts, awaken the distant, and draw them closer to Christ. The same loving Spirit transforming us is also able to bring renewal, repentance, and change to them as well.

3️⃣ Not Inviting People to Church.
Attending church wasn’t my turning point, but inviting someone may be the beginning of theirs.

I attended church all my life, but it wasn’t until I experienced loss that I opened my Bible and began truly following Jesus. Through Scripture, God transformed my heart. Church became a place of worship and encouragement. I forgot that not everyone comes to Christ the same way and a simple invitation to church can open the door to a life changing encounter.

The further we go in our walk, church becomes a natural part of our lives. Don’t forget to share the very thing God uses to strengthen and sustain our faith with others.

1️⃣ Pentecost comes from the Greek word “pentekostē” meaning fiftieth, reflecting the fact that Pentecost occurs 50 days after Resurrection Sunday.

2️⃣ Pentecost is referred to as the birthday of the Christian Church.
It marks the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles empowering them to spread the message of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:1-13
The Holy Spirit gave them the ability to speak in languages they didn’t know, allowing them to preach to different nations.

3️⃣ 3,000 people were baptized on the day of Pentecost!
After hearing Peter speak about Jesus and the meaning of His death and resurrection
the message touched their hearts.
They embraced the truth of the gospel and put their faith in Christ.
Their baptism became a public declaration of their faith and a testimony to the life-changing work of the Holy Spirit.

1️⃣ Believers in unrepentant sin 😵‍💫
1 Corinthians 5:11 says, “but now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.”

Paul’s instruction to the Corinthian church addressed someone living in persistent, unrepentant sin while still claiming Christ, NOT those who are struggling and seeking growth. The goal of separation was repentance, protection of the church, and preventing sin from being normalized.

When a believer is in unrepentant sin, we should pray for them and pursue gentle restoration (Galatians 6:1), follow loving confrontation (Matthew 18), and warn them as a brother, not treat them as an enemy (2 Thessalonians 3:15).
We are also called to lead by example, living pure lives that point others to God (Philippians 2:15; 1 Peter 2:12).

2️⃣ ‭‭A hot-tempered person 😡
Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ warns us to avoid making friends with a hot-tempered person or someone easily angered, or we may learn their ways.

Anger and negativity can be contagious. The people closest to us often shape how we think, speak, and respond to others.
We should ALL strive to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬).

3️⃣ ‭‭People who gossip 🗣️
Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬ says, “a troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.”

While this verse doesn’t forbid friendship with a gossiper, it warns about the damage gossip causes. Trust is weakened when private matters are constantly shared, and those influences can shape our character.
Even listening without speaking isn’t harmless, since hearing gossip can lead us to judge, lie, or carry burdens we never intended to carry.

We should instead surround ourselves with people who speak life, encourage growth, and build others up in Christ (Ephesians 4:29).

1️⃣ Her identity 👑

Romans 8:17 reminds us that we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.

She’s a princess!
Not like a Disney princess, but a daughter of the King of kings, an heir to God’s kingdom. I want her to grow up knowing her worth, and that her identity comes from who God says she is.

2️⃣ Where true beauty comes from🪞

1 Peter 3:3-4 tells us that our beauty should not come from outward adornment, but from within.

Before we put on the bows, dresses, and accessories, I want my daughter to learn the importance of putting on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience first (Colossians 3:12).

It’s a blessing to watch her enjoy the dainty details of being a girl, but even more, I want her to know that true beauty comes from a heart that loves God and reflects Him well.

3️⃣ Guarding her heart 💝

Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to guard our hearts.

The truth is not everyone will be kind, and not everyone deserves access to us. As a former people pleaser, I want my daughter to learn at an early age that she can set boundaries, know her worth, and walk away from people who mistreat her.
